I met Steven at a youth camp around 15 yrs ago. It was easy to see that he would be successful in evangelism. He gave a talk on sex and teenagers. He was funny and very engaging while also speaking Biblical truths. Only spending a few hours around him he seemed like a good guy. Haven't heard any of his preaching recently though.

He's probably sleeping with male prostitutes.

With their salary cap situation, they'll need to sign someone for the veterans minimum

That's funny, but I wouldn't doubt this all could have been a true story. I have no doubt they all feel that way about themselves.

This should prove to anyone who goes to that church that this has nothing to do with Christianity and everything to do with a business

Hopefully people wake up to this and stop giving these religious hustlers money.

It's a satire site so it shouldn't prove anything to anyone.

Is this the largest free agent contract ever in the history of pastors?

If only it addressed that in the article...

Anyone who claims these assholes have any special insight on God/Faith and are not glorified self help gurus akin to the steroid monkeys touting the next best workout equipment/diet on your late night TV...is blind, ignorant and/or stupid.

There is no loyalty to a congregation at this level. That is why I like to follow the college level. Plus, there is the perk of a nicer looking bench.

Not true at all. They were witnesses of Jesus and the writers of the 4 gospel accounts of his life. No where in Scripture is it taught that being a Christian leads to prosperity.

The Kingdom of God/Heaven is not prosperity?

You better stick your head back in the good book

Furtick's protege, and Clemson's team pastor, was worth $60 mill when he was fired for cheating on his wife and drug problems. God ble$$ his "church".

ETA: I was told this by an "Owner" of the church. I cannot prove it. You could not drag me inside NewSpring Church with an IH 1066.

"They say they are Christ's disciples
But they don't look like Jesus to me."

Iris Demint

"Preacher man on the TV
Putting down the rock n roll
Wants me to send a donation
Cuz he's worried bout my soul
Jesus walked on the water
And I know that is true
Sometimes I think that old preacherman
Wants to do a little walking too."

I'm guessing Perry Noble was a mentor and not a protege. Furtick captures the spirit of Mark Driscoll and Perry Noble, but is a good looking guy (according to my female friends at work that go to elevation. I think he looks like he has Bell's palsy and tries to imitate black preachers).
