We had a 6th grade team and a 7th/8th grade team when I was in middle school. Not having a team at all for 6th graders is pretty stupid. For one, they're like 12, they should still have a place to play even if they suck. Two, a lot of those kids could develop a little later and having one less year playing is going to hurt the high school team they feed into.
None of that excuses the parents whining, but it's pretty stupid the coach only takes a two deep for the entire team

Playing football sucks arse anyways. At least in the South. Playing baseball and basketball was always way more fun and enjoyable.

My oldest son played baseball 1 year. His 2nd year he was told he didn't make the team. He got in my truck telling me he got cut. Then he said, "thank God, I hate baseball"

Let me guess parents blamed it on "Politics".. or because they "heard" so and so donated a TON of money ...then they will pick one of the last 5 players selected and let everyone know what their kid could do better.... this has been the blueprint for as far back as I know
