Some parents will do anything to attend an LSU game
Also, are we sure “Mary” is a woman? Rough mugshot
SCOTT, La. (Acadiana News First) - An Acadiana couple is facing several charges after their young child took a THC gummy and the couple left to attend LSU’s game against Louisiana Tech, authorities said.
Mary Cormier, 36, and David Butt, 34, each face the following counts:
Second-degree cruelty to juveniles
Child desertion
Contributing to the delinquency of juveniles (3 counts) LINK

It really is a terribly written article.
Did the parents intentionally provide the gummy to knock the kid out?
Did they plan on going, kid ate it accidentally, and said f it let’s go anyway?

The way it reads is that they knew he had either eaten a gummy or god forbid, been intentionally given one, before leaving... and left anyway. Leaving the stoned kid in the care of another juvenile. Just an utterly despicable situation.

That is how I read it, but agreed that it’s poorly written. Sounds like the kid thought it was a piece of candy and ate it and they left the kid with an older sibling.
And I don’t see how Mary was born a woman.
