What a hypocrite you are! Wanting to abuse the law against those who support following the law. Just how mentally unstable are you?

Are you dense?

I don't want these jackbooted thugs doing things like this at all. But if you support people harming no one having their lives upended over some BS red tape, then yes, I hope you get caught up in the red tape as well and find yourself stomped by the very boot you lick.

Maybe he settles out of court and gets some money to squirrel away for a rainy day.

I wonder if the Louisiana meth heads who had the deer get whacked will garner the same support if/when they sue the state?

I am on the owners side here, but I don't see how they win. They weren't properly licensed, seems the state was legally allowed to do everything they did.

The nail in the coffin is that NY state law says explicitly that they are wild animals that cannot be kept as pets under any circumstances.

From what I understand, the catch here is that the lawsuit focuses on the MANNER in which NY State conducted this, and nothing about the legality.

Wasn't justified.
Exceeded legal and warrant authority.
Emotional trauma and loss of income.
And for being dickholes for gruesomely decapitating them and not returning the bodies.

It could be a public relations nightmare even if it is an open and shut case and lawyers may just advise NY to settle and move on.

Can we hope for a jury trial in a rural area?

Say the nuts that Peanut ate were grown in the middle of Alabama. File in Federal court and get a jury in the Middle District of Alabama. In closing arguments say that Yankee state came after a man's squirrel and will be coming after your guns if a message is not sent. Request a 100 million dollar verdict and prosper.

I mean the squirrel has a mini hardhat on.

But no safety goggles. The owner will probably be hit with OSHA fines.

Raccoons and squirrels are also considered wild animals, and its is illegal for them to be kept as domestic pets in the state of New York

I have pets and I am an animal lover, but this makes it seem very simple to me.
