Ruth Chris was already the Chili's of steakhouses. Who cares?
BTW, Olive Garden and Longhorn are not terrible restaurants. They are just chain restaurants so it is what it is.

They just opened a Capital Grille here and it's pretty good. Not the best steakhouse in town, but neither is RC (the RC here is just decent).

I disagree. Olive Garden is worse than terrible.
You're talking about an Italian joint that is too cheap to salt their water/pasta because it made their pots not last as long. You can't do anything with that.

I can’t find any worthwhile Italian joints in Lafayette. Carabba’s is another chain. iMonelli’s is overrated crap. Romacelli’s is okay though

Any Italian food with any amount of flavor at all is better than OG. How a place can make such a variety of "Italian" dishes with absolutely no flavor is beyond me. It shouldn't even be possible, yet they manage it consistently.
