Everyone I know with a KIA has had major issues before 100,000 miles. Then they had atrocious resale value to add insult to injury.

Avoid.

They look better than they used to, but they still have some pretty serious issues.

On the bright side, they also have a long warranty. You’ll need it.

There is a lot of dumb in the thread the OP references.

What amazes me is Cali dealers are putting an additional markup on top of Kia's price.

Lot of dumb in Cali as well.

And if you don't get your shite serviced at a Kia dealership your warranty is all but null. Also true if you miss any of your mileage check-in appointments. I had a 2014 Forte that had an engine and transmission go bad before 50k miles. Engine was replaced under warranty but I missed my last mileage appointment and couldn't produce proof that anywhere I took the car for service had the transmission checked so they wouldn't replace it.

To add insult to injury, it was a $19k car I bought in 2014 that was worth about $7k trade-in in 2018.

Never touching another Kia. Used Toyotas are the way.

Shitty title.

Worse thread.

You suck at posting.

Likely the lemon was well deserved.

Kia consumer affairs offered me 3 car payments as a courtesy but when they sent the offer it included a contract to release all Liability

I'm pretty sure 3 car payments doesn't come close to paying to replace the transmission, right? Which imo should be the bare minimum expectation for buying such a defective product.

They would ALSO replace the trans under warranty.

However, by taking the bribe they would release Kia from any liability for a lemon law claim. In other words, they'd be stuck with their POS Kia.

Bought my daughter (no pics) a Kia in high school and she's still driving it 7 years later without any issues. Don't know if I'd buy another one but at least this one held up well. Sucks getting a lemon.

I have a VW atlas. We had issues with it stuttering at full throttle. The dealership changed 4 pages worth of shite and the vehicle was out of service for over 60 days. In that time I reached to Volkswagen and they are replacing it with a new one even though it is now fixed. Hopefully you get taken care of by Kia.

2 of our friends have the atlas and it’s given both trouble. Only after a couple months too.

I had a Kia Borrego that was solid as a tank. Never had one minute of trouble from the car. I sold it when I moved back to Louisiana from Texas. I did not want to pay the $2500 extortion fee,- or tax as some people to call it to register it in the state. Worst decision I ever made. I miss that car.
