This is a really stupid arse post.

Years ago I bought a brand new Nissan Hardbody 4x4. They shipped it from Northern CA to my dealer in Southern CA as it was the end of the year. The transmission broke on the test drive before I signed the papers.

They dealer worked with me and new ones were $4k more similar options. They fixed the transmission and never had any transmission issues after that. It actually was a decent little truck with very few quirks.

The new transmission came in but before that, Kia consumer affairs offered me 3 car payments as a courtesy but when they sent the offer it included a contract to release all Liability so I’d be stuck with this car and could never file as lemon suit which is basically extortion. So I didn’t sign it.

I would hope not. If I bought a new vehicle and the transmission went out after 62 miles they better offer me another new vehicle and not just a transmission. Otherwise you are buying a brand new car with repaired parts. How fricking dumb would that be.

shite happens.

It's the first year of a brand new model.

Porsche is routinely at or near the top in quality/reliability and you hear stories every now and then similar to this. Brand new 911 that lives in the shop until they eventually lemon law the car.

Feel bad for the guy, but every now and then this kind of thing happens.

I’d demand my down payment back and reimbursed for all expenses so far. No thanks on that car.

I feel sorry for you. I would get the third transmission and trade it in to someone else.
Is this a first/ second year new transmission for this vehicle?
GM is the worse for new model motors and transmissions.
Allison is a transmission manufacturer that has problems all the time. They not only make for GM but other manufacturers as well. I have had two coworkers that had problems with Allison. One on a BMW and the other on a GMC truck.

What are you going to do about it? The warranty covers it and you will lose if you try and sue.

Kias and Hyundais are not "bad cars". They have become some of the more reliable cars on the market. They offer 10 year/100,000 mile warranties on their cars.

In recent years, they have routinely ranked in the top half of the top 10 cars in terms of reliability along side Lexua, Toyota, Buick, Audi, etc. and ahead of Honda/Acura.

if the transmission keeps having problems and your state has lemon laws, then you won't lose

The Kia dealership close by to us that we test drove a Telluride at a couple weeks ago also adds on top a lifetime/unlimited mileage warranty. Found that pretty impressive

So it’s not the transmission but computer or wiring.

I would buy a Kia or Hyundai before I would even consider buying anything that GM makes. I've been burned twice by their POS vehicles.

Purchased the wife (no pics) a new Acura RDX 3 months ago to replace her old RDX that that 130k trouble free miles. I have a 2014 Tundra with 124k miles that has been bullet proof.

Except you can’t sue because you signed a “voluntary” arbitration “agreement.”

Yeah, most people dont even realize this sham that virtually all dealerships are doing now. I wish the government would make it illegal.

Don't you have a three day right to return? Seems like I remember that.
