Over half? The only way this could be comforting if it was like 99%

For most people, the virus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia. Of the 91 people who have died in France, 71 were over 75, Salomon said. No details were immediately available about the patients under 60 in intensive care. France now has confirmed 4,500 cases since January. Salomon stressed that 98% of patients survive, but he called for mobilization to help the most vulnerable.

The horror!!!

Well I guess that settles it. The response, population makeup, and healthcare services mirror all other countries.

We can expect this exact response in the US for certain...

The US doesn't have enough ventilators to address a large scale respiratory emergency. That's the real panic at the CDC. All they can do is try to keep the patient count low.

Guess it would’ve been too proactive to start mobilizing large scale production a couple of months ago just in case
