Elvis

Grandparents' graves are across the path from J.P. "The Big Bopper " Richardson's gravesite at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont, TX., and not too far from Babe Zaharias' grave.

Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson in Lexington, VA.

Sam Houston in Huntsville, TX

Howard Hughes and Gene Tierney (actress in the 40's and 50's) in Glenwood Cemetery, Houston

John Wesley Hardin, Old West outlaw, at Concordia Cemetery in El Paso

Père Lachaise Cemetery is incredible. Anyone going to Paris should definitely schedule a day to spend walking around it.

Many times. One that comes to mind is Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. Beautiful place and you can follow a map and visit the graves of many famous dignitaries including composers and literary figures.

I went to the Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris and saw the graves of Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde and a few others. Aside from that, I've seen famous graves in the Vatican, Washington DC and elsewhere.

By 1999 they had already replaced the stolen bust of Morrison, though, so it was kind of a letdown. Some guy had left a joint as an offering, so I slipped it into my pocket and went on my way.

We visited Jim Morrison's grave in Paris. Wasn't really planned, we just happened to be near the cemetary he's buried in. Just follow the clues, you'll find him.

Or there's a map you can buy.

Elizabeth Reed (Macon, GA) - not a famous person but a famous grave where Duane Alman liked to get stoned and the origin of his song.

Cemetery in Boston with Paul Revere, John Hancock, Sam Adams etc…. So historical. Patriots that were at the Boston Tea Party like Revere have Bronze medallions attached signifying their presence, including unknowns but heroes for sure.

Not sure if he's super famous or anything, but with the USMC birthday looming - I'll be there at General Barrow's grave (27th Commandant of the USMC) in St Francisville on Friday for the ceremony.

A Birthday tradition I'll be a part of until I join him at Valhalla.

Edgar Degas in Paris

Just went to Montmartre in June. Saw Degas, Dumas, Adolphe Sax (imventor of the sax) and Dalida who has a really cool tomb. She was a famous French singer.

Père Lachaise Cemetery was by far the best with of course Morrison and Wilde among many others.
