Luminox is a decent brand, what are you looking at?
ETA: Just buy a Seiko SKX007 and be done with it. It looks better and will last a long time with no service.

The Atacama 1925 is my everyday watch and has thus far been indestructible. Almost sounds like some people have purchased knock-offs.

If the Luminox-style is what you want, check out Tawatec watches.
Best bang-for-the-buck would be an Orient Black Mako or a Seiko Black Monster. Both comes in different color dials as well (ie: Orange Monster, Blue Mako, etc.)

Victorianox is Swiss Army, they are great time pieces. Tissot and Hamilton have fantastic movements. Citizen would be a step down in quality.

I've had my stainless 3150 for about 5 or 6 years now and wear it EVERY SINGLE DAY in the office or outside in the woods/ on the water and have never had a problem outside of changing the battery 1 time. Unfortunately, I've heard people complaining about them in the last few years so IDK. I would buy another one.

You're comparing $500 automatics to cheap quartz movements, then somehow claiming that one quartz (Victorinox vs. Citizen) is better.

I've had one for several years and love it. Outside of a couple battery changes I have had zero trouble out of it.

Victorinox does have mechanical movements. Just the same as Luminox does. They do offer mostly quartz movements from what I've seen though. Citizen is only a quartz movement. There is difference there.

Again, I don't buy this. I put my watch through the ringer every week and have never had a single bit of trouble with it, and I'm in saltwater 30 weekends out of the year.

I've had five Reactor watches- 2 were a Gamma model, 2 were a Neutron model, and one was a Heavy Water model for the wife. Problems initially with one of each of the Gamma and Neutron model led me to getting second of each model. Sold/traded them off in the end though kept the Heavy Water, something never worn. Not worth the money, IMO

I was just giving my experience with it. It does appear the older ones were better, but the one I had that I bought just a few years ago didn't do too well. Had a band and stem issue and it just didn't appear to be made very well.

Yeah, I'm kinda bummed. It's a Trident Never Dark, only 3 years old. I picked it up Friday to wear to the games and the second and minute hands were laying in the case.

if you want a light weight watch that doesn't scream "I'm a navy seal" (or "I want to be a navy seal"), Bertucci makes a good option. Crazy durable watch. Have loved mine so far.

Yeah I had one for about 3 years and lost it in the surf this summer. Was really

But I did enjoy the watch for early morning hunting & fishing trips.

I had an issue with my Marathon where the tritium tubes would fall off after awhile.
So that's Luminox, Marathon, and Reactor.
