OT mechanics l, what’d I do?

Son has a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It’s got something draining the battery and a guy at a body shop said to try taking out all of the fuses, then put them back in one at a time. He said the one that sparks when plugged back in is the one draining the battery.
Of course I performed this jungle repair, none sparked, and now the car won’t fire up. It fired up perfectly prior to this.
Did pulling all the fuses reset something? Not sure what to try next.

sounds like a bad flux capacitor, try jiggling the muffler bearings.

See if you blew any of the fuses putting them back.
If you did, you found the cause of both problems.

You didn’t put the fuses back in the right place
Or one blew when you removed it
Or your battery is shorted before the fuses and is dead again

That’s the torque module that’s wearing out. You’ll have to re-tube it.

Will check fuses again. We were listening and watching for a spark, so thought I paid pretty good attention. Will check again. Thanks

Is your battery dying as the car sits or when it's running? If your alternator is bad, the vehicle is using your battery while driving instead of the alternator taking over. This will ruin a brand new battery in no time. If it's dying overnight, then it shouldn't be the alternator.
ETA that I am in no way some expert mechanic, I learned the lesson above from experience at a young age.

Don't forget the blinker fluid, always check the blinker fluid.

Dying if it sits for a few days.
Seems like overnight was no problem, but if it wasn’t started for 2-3 days it was dead.

Should have pulled the fuses one at a time and plugged back into the correct slot. You probably stuck a 5 amp fuse in a 20 amp slot and popped the fuse... one that’s critical in making the car run... like the fuel pump.

It’s a little late, but a voltmeter is the best way to track down parasitic drain.

Easiest way would have been to use a multimeter on amperage setting remove one fuse at a time and check the amperage one circuit at a time. Some may always have a little amperage but the one draining the battery should stand out especially if it is happening in only 2 or 3 days.
