Chicken banning gofundme because of crack head dopers, and of course now we have another legitimate reason to have one.

Being good is happening

I do appreciate the offer but in my life I've been blessed beyond measure. I'll take care of it.

This is they kind of thread that has made this place glorious for the 13+ years I’ve been here.

Years ago there was this fella named tigerpork or something like that that was having car trouble traveling through MS in the middle of the night. Told him I’d come get him. Wonder what happened to that guy

Keep in mind it’s stolen property they were withholding as well. The only thing that would make something like that worse is if you used the postal service in the commission of that. I’m not a lawyer either so I’m just pondering, of course.

Wait, after all this, eitek1 isn't a lawyer?

Repo dude or PI?

I remember that. I believe the fella 4lsu2 picked them boys up on the side of the road and brought them all the way to Baton Rouge* in his wife’s 4Runner. This website, even with all its bullshite, does some pretty good things.

I was able to pick the ignition lock on it. After checking the oil (which was clean) I tried to fire it up.

It has some electrical gremlins or I was doing something wrong. It didn't turn over.

I've got errands to run and won't be able to fool with it until tomorrow. Sorry folks.

Wait a second.. when the cops seized it, they didn’t get the key?

That's correct. It's a Non-OEM ignition switch without the wheel lock. I would've changed it anyway.

That's concerning. The shop could have toasted the motor, then filled it with fresh oil.

Unfortunately the bike isn't in the condition it appears to be in and needs some work. I saw some alligator clips holding spade connectors together. I saw a random black wire that didn't belong running somewhere and so on.

I'm going to go through the bike really good and see what all it needs. I've already ordered a new ignition switch for it.

So what work did the shop do then?

LSURussian helped us immensely when we traveled to Russia 3 times to adopt our son in 2007. This sludge pit is full of good people.

There are far too few good people like you left in this world ! What you’ve done is admirable, and you did it because you knew how, and were not motivated by anything other than a kindred spirit for your fellow man.
I have read and reread pages 1thru 22 and am still confused as to what exactly the left turn entailed. I’ll admit my reading comprehension may be an issue. I don’t usually post , just read, but this thread had me from start to finish. I tip my cap to Bruce J for being a man of his word and to you for for following thru !

When you help someone out and gift a 1000 car. No matter what do the title transfer. Man, I helped a friend out and just signed the title over with a witness and he never titled it and it really became a hassle.

Sort of related to OP said car was picked up by state police and is impound yard in BR. Front end wrecked.
I don't want it.

This shite happened to me on a trade-in at Team Honda. I gave them my ole Pizza Delivery Car in 2016 when I could finally afford to quit and get a new ride.
I think they gave me $800 on the trade. But them MFers never completed that title transfer and I got two bills from RoadRunner towing months later. It was impounded when some illegals were pulled over in it. They wanted to know if I was interested in paying $1200 in storage fees to come get it, or I could let them keep the car.
