I find this hard to believe. NOLA is known around the world for their commitment to great infrastructure.

We need an underrated comment button. This is some OT style gold.

I heard 6 government employees were trapped between floors for over 2 hours when an escalator broke down.....

See now me, I would just walk up the escalator and get off. But they were government employees so I guess that makes sense.

I filed one in the 19th JDC (BR) on the eve of prescription. They misplaced it. Fortunately, a week later, they miraculously found it.

I went to UNO for 5 years. They have five elevators in the engineering building. In that five years, there were never more than three working....typically two. There have been a few times where none of them work. Two of them have been broken the entire five years I've been there.

One elevator was shut down for maintenence for two weeks. It was opened up, worked for a week, and then broke again the next week

Building is a fricking 3rd World shithole.

I mean, there are buildings in the dirt-poorest parts of Africa in better condition.

Yeah, maybe Dale could use some of that sweet sweet filing money to upgrade the elevators. Nah, F it. She'll just hire 30 more clerks to stand around and lose shite.

Bruh, Dale's now collecting her full Clerk's retirement, along with her $160,000 a year salary for her sweet new gig on the Fourth Circuit Bench.

While living it up in the posh white palace on Royal Street, of course.

What are the chances those elevators could have been repaired/replaced for the same or lesser amount than taking down the monuments?

They have been down to one for a while now. I waited for about five minutes on Monday while I was there before hiking up to the fourth floor. The one good one must have finally kicked the bucket after being overworked.

Glad I didn't have anything on the docket there today.

Yeah. Somehow I took the wrong path in the law. If I had to do it all over again I would be a political hack cronie. I can frick stuff up real good.

Don't think we'll ever know the cost of removing the monuments. But I'm sure the replacement of the elevators would be cheaper.
