They just need to merge civil and criminal, label it 41st JDC, and treat it the same as every other JDC.

The entire relationship between the city and the courts is disturbing. The city has to pay for everything, has no say in the matter. Fund them like every other court.

Simply Pathetic - City Hall is a disgusting dump and people walk around that place like the filth is normal.

2 out of the 3 have been broken for some time. Rarely do all 3 work. I have been there before when all 3 were broken Everyone just took the stairs, or at least the people who were able. How many other major cities have this problem? This is an embarrassment to the City of New Orleans, not that anyone seems to care.

It really is awful. I had a meeting at City Hall on Monday morning and then made a quick trip over to CDC. Both places are just such shite holes.

Went to the 3rd floor to pick up my dates for my jury summons a couple weeks ago. After figuring out that there would be no elevator to take me back down I noticed the window overlooking the parking lot had a nice bullet hole in it about waist high. Looked to be a .22 or so.

Got trapped in the middle elevator about 4 weeks ago. It took another attorney and I to pry the doors open. Took the stairs on the way down. Fun stuff.

You ever take a shite in there? The bathrooms in the old OPP were probably better.

Orleans Parish Civil District Court and the First City Court have been closed because the elevators in their building are broken, according to a news release issued Thursday (May 17) by the courts. The courts are located at 421 Loyola Ave., adjacent to City Hall.

They finally both broke at the same time? Seems like everytime ive gone there one of them was broken. Those shite arse elevators were like 100 years old.

I’ve got tons of stories about filings and shite missing over there.

I’m shocked the building hasn’t collapsed.

I was in first city court a year ago for a hearing. I noticed on the windows by the elevators there were leaves stuck to the filth on the windows. The leaves are still their to this day. So the windows haven’t been cleaned in over a year.

Money and power. Up until recently there were two separate sheriff’s offices one for criminal one for civil.
