Truck nuts are obviously essential. Other than that, what features/trim do you recommend for a new 2015/2016? What's a good price for a 3.5 v6 (or 5.0 v8) 4x4 Lariat with the Tech Package? Advice on negotiations?

:assuming I don't go in an OT rage and pay cash:

You can get the snap on Louisiana package complete with a hunting sticker on one side and a Costa sticker on the other side of the rear glass.

With the tech package and 4x4, you'll be looking at around $50k to $52k for a Lariat. I'm in the market as well and decided it was worth it to get a '16 over the '15. They made some subtle hanged to the radio software I prefer (and a few other subtle things, nothing too major) and I can get the price within a couple thousand of the leftover '15 prices. I'm pretty dead set on the Platinum with tech package. Just trying to decide on the color now.

ETA: Really don't get the downvotes. A Lariat with Tech package is essentially a Platinum. It's going to sticker around $60k. Or is everyone just downvoting that I'm in the market for a truck?

Get the V-8. Properly maintained, it will last 200k+ miles. Turbos do not last that long. And if you can pay $40-50k for a truck you can afford the few less MPG compared to a 4 or 6 cylinder.

Be wise and shop around. I just got a 2015 chevy 2500 denali. Spent about two weeks shopping around and ended up getting one for 16,000 below listed price and 6k below true car value.

Pretty much every big rig on the road has turbos. They last a very long time.

I bought a XLT 4x4 in February with the 5.0. I don't trust the ecoboost engines.

Mine stickered at $53K and I paid $37,5K, so you can negotiate a lot on these.
I would guess a Lariat with that package would sticker around $56-58, so you should be between $42-$44 OTD.

It's your money. Remind them of that. Lots of room on F150's for negotiation.
