She's a white woman running for mayor in New Orleans. No chance of winning. Yeah I know Landrieu was white, blah blah blah. Remember, his old man ran on the fact that he had black ancestors, and voters ate it up, and that's why he won. So yeah, it's about race. I've said all along, New Orleans would vote Satan for mayor, as long as he's black. Thomas fits that profile, and knows the inner workings and what deals to make with those behind the scenes. Moreno is too squeaky clean , and that won't appease the base.

Oliver was the heir apparent before his arrest. He did his time and most importantly didn’t implicate anyone else. He also has a reputation for good constituent service. He will have lots of support.

Don’t know anything more than the obvious about Helena, but I cannot imagine coming to the conclusion that what the uptown ladies want is a good idea.

Do you have any idea when that announcement was made? That was a hell of a long time ago. I would guess 30 years!

They’re most likely closer to big money than a lot of us, they might know something about making it and keeping it

She has zero chance of winning. As we say in horse racing handicapping, "toss out"

That’s fitting because OT used to be at the Fair Grounds all the time.

By whom? She's basically another Latoya, but with better vocabulary. Besides, her and everyone else on the city council, are nothing but small barking dogs with no bite. ALL of them have accomplished nothing. Typical New Orleans attitude bro. Last in everything you want to be in first, and first in everything you don't want to be in last. The city has been done since 2010. Thomas will get 60% black turn out. They ain't voting for a white woman, period.

That won’t be enough when every other person is voting for Moreno

How naive. More like spending what money their hubby or daddy gives them and giggling about it over 11 am mimosa’s.

I love this for New Orleans. This is what they want. Give it to them.

Was convicted for taking bribes while in office. Once out he ran for city council a few years later and of course won.

He would be a perfect fit.

Surely he's learned his lesson.

I’ll laugh if Thomas gets illegal votes from black people that moved to Chalmette from the East and lower 9th and don’t understand that they can no longer vote for NOLA mayor
