Big Pussy Dead at 80. Gee, every time an actor dies or I see a rock star in his 80's I'm reminded of how old I've become. Where did the time go? Its like I'm in some type of time warp. I don't think I've aged that much but then the reality hits you in the face. I'll see old friends and think "boy did they get old, I hope I don't look as bad as they do!" Well one thing is sure, after a big LSU win I'm still going to run on the field with my grandson and the students. I do have to admit that watching me tying to climb over the fence is worth the price of admission.

I’m mid 50s and always feel I’ve aged well until I see a picture from say my early 40s and feels like a slap in the face

I'm not nearly as old as you but whenever I see old friends for the first time in a few years it's like a punch in the dick. Especially the friends who got fat and aged a lot quicker from not taking care of themselves. Makes me realize how fast time is going.

I too am reminded of my age by many observations on frequent occasions. I see my dad when I look in a mirror and realize that I am the last of my generation of family members who is still breathing.

That actually hit me a little hard last night.

I forget when people stopped telling me I looked young for my age, but's been a long time. Everyone said it would fly by and I thought they were full of shite and I was wrong. Around 45 things started to fall apart.

I will be 73 this year. Thank you Lord. In the Bible it says seventy four is what we are allowed these days by the Heavenly Father. My friend, brother in Christ and in arms, would always say his years past that were lagniappe. Enjoy life. All of it. Give thanks, Always.

When I traveled for work, I was asked to take a selfie for the company website. After work, at the hotel, I picked out a blank wall and took the selfie. Looking at that picture is the first time I thought “who’s that old man?”
That was 20 years ago.

For example, I tend to think forward (what’s ahead, planning stuff, anticipating this or that) with a heavy dose of maximizing value in the present. Some reflecting on past of course.
Share this because I almost never feel “where did the time go?”
On the other hand, I have a close relative who says this all the time. They have a strong orientation to the past. Music, stories, borderline lives in it. More than borderline.
As if the present never gets registered so it all just goes in past for them.
Watched some old videos of our kids and did realize how much time is behind us. But feels natural. All that is ahead, best to so enjoy it!
