I think people here need to recognize that stores putting out decorations for sale is not the store manager feeling prematurely festive and that they’re just trying to sell decorations ahead of decorating season

You can’t skip a season. End of discussion. Give thanksgiving some respect

why do all that work only to take it down a month later?
Takes maybe 3 hours. It stays up from Thanksgiving until the first week of January (3rd-7th). That's 6 weeks, not a month.

The day after Thanksgiving. Decorations and such shouldn't even be sold until November 1............looking at you, Hobby Lobby.

I just leave mine up and unplug them in

Thanksgiving evening and leave up until Epiphany. I love Thanksgiving and everything about it. It's really a fun holiday. No stress, just hanging out with friends, family, and good food.

I’m decorating for thanksgiving first. Day after, the Christmas decor will go up.

Growing up my Grandparents would always decorate 2 weeks before Christmas.
As adult it’s the Friday after thanksgiving.

why do all that work only to take it down a month later?
But Mardi Gras decorations have to go up on January 6

Never worry when to put the tree up if you never take it down

You'd have a point if that work took several days for most people. Takes about a day but stays up for a month

We’re breaking out the tree and indoor decorations next weekend, will wait until after Thanksgiving for outdoor. As much work as the tree is, I’m fine having it up a little longer.

Never before thanksgiving. Fair game after that.

I’d think day AFTER Thanksgiving. Anything before that doesn’t give proper respect to the pilgrims…

Friday night before the first Sunday in Advent.

I pull ours down weekend before thanksgiving. Then it’s all up the weekend of thanksgiving.

I will put up the tree when I feel like it, who cares what other people think?
