It's been steady freezing rain here in New Iberia. All elevated surfaces are icing up, but roads still look good.

It was warm in South La the last few days so the ground is still pretty warm. Bridges ice fast but it'll take some time for the ground to cool off but it should by the morning if it gets into the low 20s tonight.

Yep supposedly that person got out and a vehicle came sliding toward the person and it jumped or got knocked off the bridge and fell 60ft to the ground. I saw pictures on KPLC FB of a tarp on the ground and first responders around it

Someone in traffic posted they were waiting for coroner to come pronounce a fatality, so I assume that means more than the one on the ground. Nuts.

I'm not that great on Winter weather radar, but I don't think much, if any, of that is snow.

Radar was showing snow at my house in Northsippi. Got nothing but sleet off & on for 28 hours. It was still sleet when the temp got down to 20

Use correlation coefficient for winter precip because that’s a real product, not the derived precipitation depiction. That doesn’t know what it’s doing half the time.

Completely agree, It was 70 degrees on Sunday. It's just weird seeing icicle's on the trees and the road is fine. I'm working from home tomorrow, and I hope others do the same. We're just not prepared for stuff like this.

appears to be just normal, albeit really cold rain near CCL.

I usually go in at 5:00am and they told us to go in at 8.

Like that’s gonna make a fricking difference.

A lot of water that will fall and freeze on the roads, causing mass panic and Baton Rouge to shutdown for 2 days

We report at 8, but they've moved it to 10. Still gonna be 27 degrees, so I'm not sure how much success we'll have. Traversing the various bridges between my house and Sherwood will be interesting.

Work truck, so IDGAF. If they tell me to drive, I'll slide that sumbitch into the yard on two wheels.
