That's why I've never gotten this whole rush to get milk and bread thing

Realistically in the south the longest would could really ever be snowed in is about a week. If you can't survive for a week on what's in your house at any given time then idk what to tell you

I had to stop in at Publix earlier for the most important staple......coffee (mainly as a hedge against the roads turning back to shite tomorrow through the weekend). We might could have stretched it, but it would have been close. I went over to the dairy section to grab a few yogurts, and what these people have done to the poor egg section should be criminal. There were a few quail eggs and some of the free range brown eggs, maybe two dozen left. A guy was standing there in front of them scratching his head. I asked him how many ruined eggs did he think were going to be thrown out in a couple weeks. He said, "Man, these people are crazy!".

Probably going to be 9 days of iced over roads for me in the Tupelo area. If I could get to the grocery stores they don’t have much due to no deliveries since Saturday. I still have a 2 feet of frozen sleet on my patio where it was flowing off the roof in the valley.

We had light sleet, snow, & freezing rain today & the roads are worse now than any point since this began on Saturday.

I read the tea leaves pretty good last week and it was a smart play. Even got 10 gallons of gas for the generator. I’ll use it in the mower come spring anyway.

Can someone explain freezing fog to me? Am I driving through a frozen cloud?

Exactly.
Fog is a cloud formed at ground level.
If surfaces are below freezing the fog (cloud) will freeze on it.
It is like freezing rain falling and freezing on contact but it is done at the vapor level instead of the liquid level if that makes sense.

No, you've got a bunch of tiny water droplets that will freeze once they hit a surface.

There is ice fog, where you would be driving through a frozen cloud but its far too warm down there for that to be a possibility.

In east Tennessee, the roads are covered with black ice. Overnight four major wrecks had interstate traffic at a standstill.
It's 31F now, and dropping to 11F or lower tonight. And tomorrow night. Monday it should melt.

The local TV stations have more up to date into than TDOT.

We have been much warmer than forecasted today and it's been much needed

High was supposed to be mid 20s but it's floating right around 32 with bright arse sunshine helping thaw things out. I figured my sites would remain shutdown til Sunday but I've been opening stuff up today
