Is this common? This is from a small town in Arkansas.

Good to hear. Main roads were ok as of 6:00. Side roads weren’t slick but covered with snow, worst of it was just not being able to see the lanes

I was just standing on the porch listening to the sleet when a damn wren flew in, right at my head. No idea what spooked it, but it finally found it's way back to the yard. It better find a warm spot for the night.

Some of you need to state where you reside when you post an update. For example, central Arkansas is a lot different from Baton Rouge right now

I quit paying attention for a bit then looked back outside and we have a couple of inches at least I'd say. My sister says it's still snowing in Memphis not sure how much more we will get

I hope it snows a damn foot. Hell 2 feet

Lot of homes in with bad roofs will collapse with more than 2 feet on them in Memphis.

I’m jealous of Tennessee and North Mississippi right now. Snowing good and temps are not an issue. Whenever I get snow in my area the temperatures are always borderline on whether it’ll be cold enough for the precip to changeover to snow and to stick.

This 3 degree weather with snow is horrible.

Give me 28 degrees and 9 inches of snow.

I’m about 20 miles SSW of the slopes of Driskill Mountain, in a creek bottom in the foothills (AKA the sandhills) of that majestic peak, about 180 feet above sea level.

Nothing here yet, just cold with a slight breeze.

NWS Shreveport
@NWSShreveport

Pockets of freezing rain, sleet and some light snow flurries are increasing across the region this evening. As a result, roads are deteriorating and leading to accidents. This is especially true across the I-20 corridor in East Texas. Avoid driving if possible.
