re: NY Post says forget the Hamptons because Mandeville & Covington are the new places to live

As someone who has spent a lot of time in St Tammany , mostly in Mande/Covington- ive always been a little bit perplexed as to why the areas a little further north dont get more love.. areas like Bush LA and Sun LA and a couple of other little towns up there that I cant remember the names of.. in my 20s I dated a girl who's parents lived in Bush LA and even though I grew up in the NOLA metro I didnt even know that the area up there even existed.. ill never forget driving there for the first time, and not even an hour from the Superdome (was not during rush hour lol)- we were driving through rolling hills and passing huge ranches that looked straight out of the old Dallas tv show.. I was like 'This is south Louisiana ?'... kinda blew my mind .. ive only been back up there a few times over the last 20 years, but I always love it and I think it seems so idyllic considering how close it is to downtown New Orleans and the Southshore.. ii would think that the temps in the summer might be a degree or two cooler as well, but not sure.. im surprised with work from home that more people haven't discovered it.. plus it is relatively high and dry, and inland compared to most of South LA .
