They spend one summer in South LA and they'll sell their property faster than homeless man giving out ZJs.

All it takes is one social influencer from the Southhamptons to tout the benefits of humidity on the face and how Louisiana heat makes women look 20 years younger on TikTok and it will cancel out the summer heat problem.

Joe Rogan: Austin is great in the summer. I sauna 4x/day in 190 degrees in my $15M mansion on Lake Travis.

Every half arse comedian that followed him there:
This place is the 7th circle of hell for 5 months a year.

I am the opposite of the self loathing nega tigers around here but this complaint is legitimate. I am from here and have friends that grew up here and never left. I moved away, made my money and came back.

I’m not concerned about me, I am concerned about my friends in $65k jobs and living in $250k houses. An influx of multi millionaire NY’ers wouldn’t be good for them.

The Hamptons was a small cluster of fishing villages and sleepy towns until they got invaded by the rich. Now the locals can’t afford to live there. I would hate to see that happen to the NorthShore. I like that we are anonymous outside of a 100 mile radius.

And spare me the Gentrification bullshite. We aren’t a ghetto over here that would benefit from investment. We are doing just fine and everyone else, especially NY’ers, can piss off back to where they came from.

This all day. There is no way in hades that folks from NY are coming to take over anywhere in South LA because of this right here. They had a heat wave up there this year and they get pizzed if they have to turn on the AC.

Prices for the priciest homes in Covington have shot up 94% over the last decade, while Mandeville isn’t far behind at 80%, according to fresh data from Realtor.com.

Well yeah, we’ve been telling yall we’re full for years. Gotta pay to join the elites.

so you would rather live around and have your kids grow up around families making 65k barely getting by instead of having connections that being around the wealthy bring?

yea the hamptons were so much better off being small clusters of fishing villages than they are now

dumbest fricking arguement I have ever seen....essentially

" THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE IT TOO NICE!!"

spare you the gentrification bullshite??? you are about as intelligent as the ghetto project queens that scream the same thing.

how about this....instead of them pissing off where they came from....you and your broke arse 65k a year friends move some place else, hopefully out this state.

oh no.....they are making it too nice now!!

stupid as frick.

like i said....yall bitch about everything and people like you and the swamp queen Liz have the same mentality and critical thinking skills of the ghetto queen yall love to make fun of.

Covington has a Sonic

Sonic was Covington’s first fast-food place - years before McDonald’s. I don’t count Danny’s Fried Chicken or Badeaux’s.

You had Sonic, Fatty’s, Pasquale’s, and Morgan Lindsay’s lunch counter all within a few hundred feet of each other!

Hearty Burger got all the post-movie crowd heading to Madisonville.

Well it damn sure hasn't made it's way north across the parish line into Washington Parish. Property values up there seem to be on the depressed side.

Im not the one on here bitching that rich people may move to my area

I would be over the moon if something like this was written about LC and a bunch of wealthier people started moving down here.

did you not read peoples replies?

OP post an article from NYP saying north shore is a great place to live

people immediately jump on here and say how terrible this is for the area and spare me the gentrification BS because it hurts the area when housing prices go up

essentially saying...stop making things nice.
