There is a Zaxby's about a half mile from the Red Roof Inn in Vestavia Hills. I wouldn't recommend it. Last time I was there it was going to take a while as they had to thaw out some chicken. No thanks.

Anything south of about Mark’s Outdoors on 31 is sketch until you get past the Galleria.

Lulz. It’s certainly not the jewel of the OTM crown but it’s hardly sketch. Get north of 20 if you want sketch.

I’ve always found it funny that despite all of the money that resides in vestavia, they have the worst footprint in terms of commercial real estate. The traffic sucks and there isn’t one shopping plaza in the entire city that isn’t a giant pain in the arse to get in and out of. It’s the equivalent of a million dollar home with carpet on the walls.

Back to the thread at hand- The attorney made a great point...
On the today show, the parents said that they couldnt hug their daughter because medical professionals had to examine her... but they were the ones that called 911 to report she showed up.
So youre not gonna hug your daughter immediately?
The screwed themselves further by doing that interview but again, we all know we are dealing with the best and brightest.

Eh, that little piece isn't too desirable. They finally leveled the Travel Lodge, Vestavia Hills' original no-tell motel. 8 years later there's just concrete. Where the rock slide ruined a bunch of cars at AMOCO is still barricaded. Its pretty rough from Mark's to I-65.

Agreed. Other than Cahaba Heights, which im still wrapping my head how they are part of Vestavia, the food and commercial business scene sucks arse.
Rocky Ridge shopping Center is cool but it needs more offerings...

My friend is a developer in town and said Vestavia just isnt forward thinking... Hes the one doing the Waldo/Big Bad breakfast on 31 and he said he still had to jump through hoops from the NIMBY'S.

I can’t believe GMA had them on after the disastrous Smollet interview.
The fact she claimed to have seen a male toddler from 1/4 mile away in the dark screams “bullshite”.
Put a toddler you don’t know in a diaper and you really can’t determine gender in a well lit room from 20 feet away.
The whole foundation of her claim is built on this one obvious lie.
That’s why an Ashanti alert was never sent. It’s why crime stoppers acting in good faith started returning donations. Crime Stoppers doesn’t want to be involved in obvious fraud.

The lawyer on Facebook who was cited in an earlier post addressed seeing the toddler on the interstate in a post on Friday, I believe, when he started doubting the story even before she was found. He pointed out that the speed limit is 70. Stopping because you saw something on the shoulder of the highway in the dark is going to take you about 100 feet away from whatever it was in his opinion.

I said it is sketchy, not straight ghetto. There are some places and stretches that are ok. Some not so much. To me that is sketchy. I mean, we are talking about the red roof inn there that is apparently a crack house and the Econo-lodge that is a glorified brothel. That is sketchy in my book. The NE end of Mountain Brook is similar and even more extreme. Area around Springdale/Montclair. Million dollar houses on one side of 78, crackhouses on the other.
