On the today show, the parents said that they couldnt hug their daughter because medical professionals had to examine her... but they were the ones that called 911 to report she showed up.
So youre not gonna hug your daughter immediately?
I caught that too. With them giving zero explanation to that and the interviewer not doing a very good job with follow-up questions , are we to believe that they had paramedics at their house the whole weekend just waiting for her to return? Did the whole Red Roof thing (she's allegedly there then allegedly wasn't there) actually happen so they knew she would be coming home after she showered and got all the sex and cheezit crumbs off of her?

The NE end of Mountain Brook is similar and even more extreme. Area around Springdale/Montclair. Million dollar houses on one side of 78, crackhouses on the other.
Eh, its not that bad, not anymore at least.

Also, the wig on the side of the road is big for me. Black women are very self conscious about this.
Maybe she took a backpack with her that contained another wig.

Imagine my disappointment to see 4 new pages added to this thread since this morning and excitedly opening it only to read about shithole quick stops and fast food spots in fricking Alabama.

Just consider it small payback for all the threads about which city is shittier - NOLA or Baton Rouge.
Newsflash - they both super shitty.

I wouldn’t want someone from out of town visiting to get lost and end up north of 20 on Oporto Madrid on a Friday night. It isn’t among the worst places in the area. But I sure wouldn’t go jogging there.
When they redid the interstate down town I had to make that detour from around Daniel Payne to east of downtown near the airport. I don’t even know what that area is called other than depressing and dangerous. Until then I had avoided that area at all costs. Now that is ghetto. Ensley and around Legion Field is ghetto. I am not saying that earlier mentioned stretch of 31 is like that. I am just saying there are a lot of sketchy areas that butt up against very nice areas. And in a hurry. That’s all.

This just gets better and better every day. The amount of humor that the parents are taking the "Worldwide Privacy Tour" route is exponential. Bold strategy, Cotton.

yeah, north of 20, and west of Montevallo rd/Irondale road isn't somewhere you'd want to be at night for sure.

Thats a good point. You have to assume no medical were at the house therefore how would they know not to hug her as a parental instinct? Daughter shows up after 2 days missing and you don’t hug her? That makes no sense.

I'm probably naive, but I didn't realize they can ping phones that fast
quote:
“Where exactly is that call coming from?”
“The call is pinging from that location.”
“We’re at .... Atkins Trimm Lane checking the back yard....Do you want to see if we can start getting her (Russell’s) phone pinged?”
“That’s 10-4, start pinging her phone.”
“We’re trying to get T-Mobile to ping the phone.”

Makes zero sense that you are not going to hug your daughter who has been missing for two days until the medical folks arrive. Also, didn't they say she was "unresponsive" though she arrived at their home on foot?

Other calls capture the moment when Carlee Russell’s family shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday reported they had received a call from her saying she was at Red Roof Inn in Vestavia Hills.
“The front, per caller, said family members at this location saying they received a call from the female that’s missing, Carlee Russell, saying she was at this location,” a dispatcher said.
“I spoke with the front desk clerk. They said the family’s not being (inaudible) or anything like that, but that there was about six carloads of people that have just shown up over there,” the officer replied.
Dispatcher: “Did the front desk have anybody check in under that name?”
Officer: “Negative, and according to the front desk, the message the family got did not state which Red Roof Inn. They don’t know if it’s going to be Vestavia or another location.”
Hours later, at 10:44 that night, the Hoover 911 center received a call from Carlee’s residence that she had returned home on foot.

From your link:
So why would a large crowd be onsite before first responders? How would they know she is home? Who told them? This is one strange case.
quote:
“Nunnally Pass, police are en route, unresponsive female is breathing,” a fire department dispatcher said. “Be advised, I’m 23 (on scene), we’ve got a large crowd out here in the street,” a first responder replies. “We should have all the family members that were here on the front porch,” an officer then said.

We learned where not to order out from when smoking crack at the Red Roof Inn in Vestavia Hills.

I live around here and I agree.
Basically, Vestavia Hills, is the old "suburban" area of Birmingham that arose in the 1960s and 70s that has managed , for the most part, to not fall into the complete disarray that many areas like this around the country have.
