Why couldn't they pump out of one the largest rivers in the world only 300 yards away?
Try sucking water through a fabric straw
They'd need 300 yards of rigid 10" diameter line in order to pump. Who has that just sitting around?
A regular, soft firehose would collapse
It would take one hell of a pump set up at the river's edge that was capable of pumping 3,000 gallons per minute at a distance of 300 yards

It would take a rigid line running through 10" rigid lines to supply 3,000 gpm to just one pumper truck.

The maximum flow rate for a 10" steel pipe is approximately 3,000 gallons per minute (GPM).

LPB had a nice interview with the owner recently
My heart goes out to this fella. He definitely seems passionate about the property and what it could’ve been. Kind of hard to watch in light of the destruction.
He seems so sincere and passionate. It would have been so great for White Castle and the Parish if he pulled off his plans and that would be good for all races.

Go to those comments, black women taking selfies smiling with the house burning in the background.

Literally celebrating a black town's tourism dollars going up in smoke. Such a classy breed of people.

I remember that explosion. The force knocked a clock off our home's wall in Gardere, almost 10 miles away.
Yep, did a little damage. Very fortunate to be a holiday, could have been so much worse!

Sorry for his loss. I do understand the importance of restoration for history sakes. And it’s kind of him to generate economic growth for a place no one cares to go.
But the truth is that building should have been burned to ashes during the civil wars. Biggest mistake the Union made was not severely and affirmatively pushing the South for their secession.
It’s the reason why the cancer of their beliefs runs rampant together.
Good riddance to that building, I imagine the souls of those that were maimed, murdered, raped, and tortured at that concentration camp are feeling some vindication today. Justice and the tilt towards a great good always prevails.

Maybe now that it’s burned down NBR residents will stop murdering each other and random people

Local water supply of 1,500 gpm max can't handle a sprinkler system. Just hope no one flushes their toilet or takes a shower. Pointless to install one.

if you were to build fire protection for that building today, you would probably be looking for 3,000 to 3,500 GPM (gallons per minute), almost double of what that had.
You would build a large pond or small lake on the property that can be a static water source in an emergency easily accessible to firefighters so supplement the sprinklers.

Those poor, pitiful 4.39%.

What the ever living frick?
News flash, buildings are inanimate objects. They have no control on what happens. They are not guilty or innocent. There's a reason we don't arrest a house and take it to trial when bad things happen in it.
Should we burn down the Myrtle's too?
In fact, let's burn down every last thing that offends anyone. Let's just raze this whole fricking world to the ground and you can worship the fricking ashes.
You cannot see past the end of your nose. This has fricked over the working class in that community, ones that will suffer long after you have forgotten about it and moved on to celebrating the next outrage.
You're pathetic.

Honest answer, I have a ten inch fire line on my private pond. It makes zero since they didnt have one for that purpose.
There are three companies within 5 miles who could have done the work.

[quote]JUST IN: Manpower requested back to Nottoway Plantation for some rekindling of the massive fire. It is normal for fires of this magnitude to rekindle from hot spots.

We’re talking about people who celebrate the burning and looting of small businesses and then complain that The Man is holding them down. LBJ destroyed a large portion of the Black community in the USA and the damage is most definitely being felt in 2025. This is what happens when the father is removed from the family unit in exchange for a few shekels.

it's a proven fact that In nola 40% of free blacks were slave owners, I never see that on Facebook tho
And since Nottoway is in Iberville, here is another interesting fact. The wealthiest black slave owner in Louisiana was from Iberville. I will find the info and link it.

Same ones who boycott, loot, shoplift and rob white owned businesses then complain about “food deserts” in their part of town.

His name was Antoine Dubuclet.
Wikipedia
quote:
Dubuclet was born in Iberville Parish near Baton Rouge. He was the son of Antoine Dubuclet Sr. and Marie Felecite Gray. Both were free blacks; his father was part owner of Cedar Grove, a successful sugar plantation he inherited from his parents, Joseph Antoine Dubuclet and Rosie Belly. Upon his father's death, his mother moved to New Orleans with her younger children; Dubuclet took over his father's responsibilities and assisted in managing the plantation and enslaving more than seventy people. In 1834, the plantation was divided between Dubuclet and his siblings.[1][2]

No one’s lives are being improved from the building burning down. This is a net loss with not a single tangible positive in sight. It’s fine to be neutral or not care it burned down, but to celebrate it? It’s very pathetic you and so many others feel this way.
