Notre Dame won't have a modern thingy after all instead of the classic spire

Macron announced an international competition to design something modern to replace the fallen spire and supporting roof. He thought it was a good idea, and some architects even suggested replacing the roof with a cross shaped swimming pool.

Cooler heads prevailed and it will be repaired to the most recent design pre-conflagration.

Ignoring historical relevancy, that would have been quite the sight.

Glad they scrapped this. Save that for the Gemstones megachurch types

That would be a lot of holy water.

The liability insurance alone would have killed the swimming pool. Although I see they opted for no diving board so that may have saved them.

I thought they were putting a gold dome on top and turning it into a mosque.

That's a bit too much Merica for the French.

At least that wouldn't burn.

It'll be interesting to see how they rebuild it to it's previous form, being that they really don't fully understand how the original architects put it together.

That should be grounds for excommunication.

Somehow I don't feel so sorry for these Catholics now.

A drunk Catholic priest killed my brother in a car wreck in 1972 and they hid him til my parents ran out of money just to see him in court. They weren't trying to sue them, they just wanted him to at least see the family he impacted. It never happened.

The child abuse they have fostered is disgusting, yet they hide and protect these degenerates.

I pray the Good Lord will give them what they deserve.

There is One we can't hide from.

Are you being serious? You say some outlandish shite sometimes but this is absolutely terrible if true.

Really sorry you’re family had to deal with such a horrible tragedy but there are plenty of good Catholics in the world. There are more Catholics than any Christian religion.

He already did. Peter was given the Catholic Church.

It's the truth.

My parents are no longer alive, and probably the drunk dude, but only their people know,so it's a closed book.

I was sorry to see that place burn though,it was a great building.
