Nothing a little bleach down the pipe can't handle.

Blow it out with air compressor and put white vinegar in it.

Little routine maintenance will stop that. Occasionally pour a bit of baking soda and water down that hole. Bleach is also good.

This works like a charm for me. If I could remember to put a little white vinegar in it periodically, I wouldn't have to blow it out.

Dumped a whole bottle of bleach down my drain pipe. It still gets clogged. Vinegar time!

Use vinegar, bleach doesn’t kill mold

I had to do this - cut the PVC, tapped a air hose in the pipe and blew it out then glued PVC back together.

This has happened to me. Luckily I have a crawlspace so the mess wasn't too bad.

So, is it bleach or vinegar?

I've tried bleach before, but I always forget to do it enough and it still backs up from time to time.

Dunno. At this point had to get AC guy out. Water was looking the carpet in one room and bubbling up through flooring in the hall.

He said use the pills.

One of the easiest repairs.
Put a $5 blowout valve on it and when it clogs blow compressed air into it.
Or pay someone $150 to come out and do that.

Husband did that. The whole house smelled like bleach for about a month. I wanted to kill him. Get tablets from an AC company.

Also a good idea at winter's close to hook a ShopVac to the outside pipe exit. Let that rascal suck for a good minute. Helps get rid of insect nests, etc. Then go with bleach and water in attic pan.

I used a little Liquid Plumber.
