Again, it's all in what you concentrate on. If you want to get a license and work for roto rooter or something then yea you aren't going to be raking it in.
But working for yourself with a plumbing license can make you a very good living and whether its as a service plumber or new construction but new construction plumbers can do very well.
I just don't see the benefit of being a union plumber or something when there's an opportunity to go out on your own.

Yeah my friend started a LLC and his own gig. Has some people under him, and still gets big commercial jobs from people higher up kicked down to him
Lot of networking involved.
He also works long hours, travels all day and barely sees his family.

It ain't that hard. Hot on the left, cold on the right and shite flows downhill is all you need to know.

master plumbers license
Does shite and piss flow better uphill or downhill?
Question #2:
After working on a toilet, should you chew your nails?
Question #3:
What day is payday?
(HINT: It's after Thursday but before Saturday)

Every plumber I know makes absolute bank. The really big money comes from getting contracts and/or owning your company with a fleet of servicemen.
They charge an insane amount, pay the people shite, and bring in huge profits

It's not easy or a golden ticket like some seem to think, probably because they just had to pay $150-200/hour for some work.

Of course it isn't easy but the entry into becoming a master plumber isn't easy either so it's not like people are lining up to do it and the demand remains steady. You'd almost have to be a complete idiot not to make a living on your own as a plumber due to the demand.
Same with RE Appraisers and surveyors. The barrier for entry keeps a lot of people from doing it yet the demand is high for them. Especially appraisers as a lot of the current ones are getting old and retiring.

Plumbers make good money compared to most other skilled trades. I think that is why people think they make "bank". Compared to most other laborers, they do pretty damn well.
I know of a few people that did very well as plumbers, one did well enough to basically retire in his 40s.

I completely understand it's a good career and can pay well, but again, the mean and median salaries are about $50,000.
I'm just trying to set the record straight

Any service industry job will pay well if you are good at what you do and work for folks. It's not a hard concept at all.

Big difference between a service call plumber and an installer
Also a big difference between a large commercial installer and a residential installer
I was a plumber while going through college. Good money while in college

I've had a masters license since 2005......still waiting to make "bank" lol. Not gonna lie I make a decent
I've got two plumbers in the family that do about 95% new construction and the rest service for ppl that they know. Neither one is rich but do really well. It's a good honest living but Gdamn it's hard work. The money that plumbers do make is hard earned and way more deserved than anyone else on a job site.

First off, any man that owns a house should know a bit of plumbing. One should know how to unblock a backup system. See, that is what is wrong with lazy arse people these days. They don't want to get their hands dirty nor think for themselves.
One should know how to do that, change washers and even how to reseat a faucet if need be.
