You don't have to be a voter to know that politician is unfit to hold office or is not a suitable candidate.
If, in my opinion, all choices are shite, then why should I be compelled to choose the least shitty of options?

That's what we're getting every 4 years.
No argument here, brother

Which is what? From my point of view, the issue is that the 2 party system keeps putting out the above mentioned shite stew. And we don't really have any recourse for voicing our displeasure, except for maybe voting in the primaries.

Taking it a step farther:
Casting a vote for "the lesser of 2 evils" is still casting a vote supporting evil.
We should each and everyone of us BEWARE anyone seeking power! They are planning to use said power. Once they have said power, who's to ensure they use it constructively? Casting a vote for ANY evil is bad.

Sooooooo... anarchy?

Your one vote may not matter, but if you don't like who was elected, I think it's a bitch move to then complain about it when you had the option to at least cast 1 for someone else.

Nope, anarchy is enabling warlords essentially. Be more careful about who runs, vet them thoroughly, draft candidates instead of just being all hokey-dokey hurdur (s)he wants mah vote, encourage those hesitant to run to step up.
We also send police through school (training academy at least), some cities/states also require psych analysis of cops/academy candidates, before giving them power. Something similar could be applied to politics to cut down on the power hungry abusers of the election process.

Atheists, Vegans, Cross fitters, and non-voters.... is there really a difference?

I think if you have to post about not voting, then you yourself, are bothered by the fact you didn't vote.

That's silly. It's a valid point worth discussion. He's not simply saying "I didn't vote, look at me!"
Perhaps the people who say you aren't allowed to complain if you don't vote bother him.

Well your logic seems awful enough to like one of these candidates.

didn't earned income for poors come into existence during republican control?
it's stuff like this that makes your vote not matter. the rich are going to get good stuff and the poor are going to get good stuff and the middle class will get nothing no matter who you vote for.

You have about the same voice by not voting. Refusing to put your support towards these 2 assholes is a choice.
Which is about as useful as protesting gasoline prices by urging people not to buy gasoline on a certain date.
If you vote you've at least taken a chance. If you don't, you're just sitting on the fence because you are either too scared or too lazy to research enough to pick between the lesser of two evils.

Well, I disagree with George, because his statement is based on the premise that who I vote for wins. If they don't, I have every right to complain.
But, if you have the opportunity to make a difference, and you don't use that opportunity, you have no right to complain. I, as a fan, cannot walk down onto that field and coach the team. I, as a customer, cannot walk into the kitchen of a restaurant and cook my own meal.
It's a flawed argument because only one of the 3 actually affords you the opportunity to make a difference.
So yes,

I'm not bother at all. I'm too preoccupied with school and life to develop some bullshite guilt complex about something like this.
As another poster remarked, and as I thought I made quite clear in my OP, I'm not trying to make some grand gesture or statement by identifying myself as a non-voter.
I'm just legitimately fed up with people using such an erroneous and hollow argument to silence my critique of the system as a whole.

No, no it doesn't.

unfortunately, ignoring even the 3rd party options for that race, you neglect the down ballot positions and amendments which tend to effect your day to day life a hell of a lot more than hillary or trump will anyway. and in those your voice (vote) gets louder and louder as the pool gets smaller

so what are you doing to better things outside of voting?
because i think the sentiment is tied to folks sitting back doing nothing complaining. which is a lot of people (including those that vote)

No. Voting is one of several ways to express an opinion, and it’s the least effective b/c your individual vote will never change the outcome. Elections only matter in the aggregate.
Are you saying that in countries without elections, everyone should just shut up because they weren’t allowed to express an opinion? Of course not, and that’s why the people there post their opinions online, usually anonymously. That’s another avenue of expressing an opinion that doesn’t involve voting.
Americans can do that too and have every right to do so. Now if you just don’t want to *listen* to the opinion of a nonvoter, that’s on you, not the one with the opinion.
