Are you trying to be worthless, or are you actually worthless?

All I've seen you do is make cute little one liners without actually contributing to the discussion.

You can bitch about the choices, but you have no reason to bitch about the result if you didn't use your voice.

If you have minimal to no say in the choices, do you even have a voice?

No.

In what way? Do you think I am?

Of course I can. As had been pointed out to you and others in this thread, your assertion is illogical.

One of the dumbest cliche's ever. No logic at all

And it's is foolish to vote. Chances of dying on the way to vote are greater than chances of your vote counting.

So is voting if you aren't in a swing state....

So I suppose you'd just rather live in a dictatorship then?

This is akin to the Tragedy of the Commons. Let's say I believe that if I don't vote, it doesn't make a difference. Now let's say every other person believes the same thing. If no person votes, because they believe their vote doesn't count, who wins?

And don't give me the bullshite "well that's not true" argument. I know that is not the case, but of everyone believed this bullshite of "my vote doesn't matter", this would be the case. And it is that exact attitude, as pointed out in this thread, that is the reason behind the "I'll just sit home and bitch and moan about the results".

What if every state actually mattered? Would you still sit home and bitch about the results after you DIDN'T vote?

This is like those people that bitch about how bad things are, but don't do anything to change it.

"Well what can I do?"

Well, for starters, you can quit being a bitch and get out there.

I paid to eat at the restaurant, therfore I can criticize.

You can complain, you're just a lazy hypocritical bitch.

And I what about the rest of the things in the ballot? Do any of those things actually matter to you?

For instance, in Louisiana, school boards want the power granted by constitutional amendment to raise and lower tuition and fees with no oversight or approval?

You have an opinion on that?

People vote so they can feel important or blast on social media who they're voting for. It's all for attention. Especially now in an election where it's basically minorities with Hillary Clinton against the big bad white man in Trump. It's pointless, really.

Let me ask you a question.

If you saw a restaurant full of people, and everyone was eating in the restaurant and there was just one guy standing outside the restaurant bitching about the menu and shitting on the quality of the food and making fun of everyone's choices but he had never actually eaten in the restaurant or even been inside, what would you think of that guy?

Agreed. If the candidates are all shite and I don't want them representing me, why should I cast a vote their way to give them permission to represent me and my opinions. I stayed at home this year, and had no problem voting for Mitt last time.

The only thing on the ballot in your district was the Presidential election??

No local reps, no Congress, no amendments, no Parish ordinances, etc...?

Just the president?

Here's the thing: I've seen where they got the food, how they prepared the food, how the waiters have been spitting on the food, and it smells like total dog shite. No, I don't need to take a bite to know that it's bad for me and awful.

Nope, you're still confused.

What makes a single person's vote not matter is the fact that so many people (falsely) believe their votes do matter.

If suddenly everyone decided to stay home, then a single person's vote would matter b/c nobody else is voting.

Technically speaking, no, one person's vote would not matter, because to win the presidential election, it takes 270 electorate votes, which could not be obtained from one vote in one state.

I mean, if you want to be really technical, the electoral college can cast their vote any direction, so it really doesn't matter if anyone votes or not.

Still doesn't change my opinion on the matter. You have no room to bitch if you aren't out there trying to do something.

When has sitting on your arse and pouting like a little girl changed anything in the world?
