Exactly. I always wait to buy throws at the last minute for this reason. I'm just going to spend very little this year because I'm not riding if it gets bumped to Sunday after Bacchus again like 2011. That year was awful.

Do throws expire?

What made it awful? I moved to Louisiana in 2012 so I've never experienced Bacchus and Endymion on the same day. A lot of my friends were here in high school though and said those days were the greatest Mardi Gras ever. So I"m trying to figure out what people like and don't like about it.

A forward thinking tourist-oriented destination would move it to April every year. That's what Disney would do. New Orleans is mired in the past.

Actually debatable. People would still love to catch those a year later especially because at that point they're incredibly limited.

Perfect opportunity for a mom/wife joke, but I'll defer on this one.

I am guessing 2012 or 2011 Bob Breck basically lied about the timing of terrible thunderstorms to help make sure Endymion didn't have to move to Sunday.

As a rider, it was awful to not start the parade till after bacchus finished their start and then get off the float around 1 AM after partying all day and the night before, since the Extravaganza still goes on, with no hotel room cause we all leave on Sunday to make room for other people.

You have to have everything loaded by Thursday night which will be before any decisions are made. Once its loaded there will be no way to get it off. I'll just spend less money and have other riders throw it all off for me if it gets moved to Sunday.

Its only great for young party folks who want to drink for 14 hours straight. Sucks for the riders, sucks for families (I know a lot of people who never finish all of Bacchus anyway), sucks for the Police who are now working a 16-18 hour Sunday. It even sucks for local musicians, there are many Sunday evening shows but if Endymion is just starting at 10 pm people wont be able to get to many of the shows.

It's awesome for drinking on St. Charles Sunday. Sucks for everyone involved in the parade though.

No no...normal people would just think the thrower is a cheap SOB that scrapped up some beads that his friends caught last year to throw.

I'm friends with the captain of another krewe, but they are all pretty tight. Speculation right now is that the city is already preparing for an Endymion washout, and moving them uptown behind Bacchus on Sunday.

We're marching/chaperoning so we're watching.

that is going to be Painful!!!!!
