I'm friends with the captain of another krewe, but they are all pretty tight. Speculation right now is that the city is already preparing for an Endymion washout, and moving them uptown behind Bacchus on Sunday.

We're marching/chaperoning so we're watching.

Serious question.... How can we accurately tell rain without a radar? How far out do radars show?

As far as a rider in Endymion goes, this is the worst thing, IMO, that can happen. fricking sucks doing that.

The details of the timing are too far away to say with much confidence currently. If the model runs keep the same timing, it'd be much more likely that Endymion parades in a steady moderate to heavy rain and Sunday in Uptown is mostly dry.

The timing is still subject to change and could come later, giving Endymion a decent weather parade and raining pretty good for through Thoth on Sunday.

Won't really have a good idea on timing of rains or exactly where the heaviest stuff parks. The NWS isn't willing to say above an 1" any day this weekend. If so, lightning isn't likely to be a major concern either.

Tl;Dr: Forecast is far from certain on Monday. Keep an eye on the NWS office and see what projections look like come Thursday afternoon.

Thx, and that makes me feel a little better. I don't want anyone to get rained on. I would hope we could get ours in on Saturday.

Math and a super computer generally makes a pretty good guess at it.

Radar is a "right this moment" sort of tool.

There's a fair chance no schedule change is necessary. Endymion is the most at risk assuming current projections are correct, so it wouldn't hurt to be planning for a midnight run Sunday through Uptown. I'm just suspect of any computer model or forecast where it appears six hours will make a difference on either side, which is the case here. At least until much closer to the event.

Is not going to be cold, wet and trashy this year? Unless it’s a clear sunny sky with warm temps so we can see short-shorts and ta-tas, I’m out.

Thx so much for info, I'm nervous about it, but hoping we get clear skies just for a few hours to roll. Only really need from 4-9 to be clear.
