What’s the story behind this?

Looking on Google maps it seems a if that extension stretch has been cleared between the two intersections. Was this an old plan that fell through at one point? Or are the maps images that recent?

That’ll be a nice bypass. For people going to/from campus, the airport, etc. good move Monroe.

Ellis seems like he’s been great for the city.

It’ll cost way more than that

N. LA legislators don't seem to squabble like S. LA boys do.

The hangup involving the next "new bridge" in Baton Rouge seems to me to be due to all the various reps and senators not getting their asses together. Bicker, bicker.

It was new and fancy then as well. I sure did love my purple skate pom poms.

didn’t know about this. Where are they extending it?

They started working on it in 2021 when I was working at a company on Kansas Lane and I haven't seen them do much of anything with it as of late. Could just be on days when I'm not around, but I'm in that area a good bit.

Meanwhile, the part of Louisiana that's growing (south Louisiana), has collapsing freeway bridges and a desperate need for a new river crossing.

Awl….why do people live in South La again?

Once complete, the Jimmie Davis Bridge will be rehabilitated into a linear park that will connect the existing bicycle and pedestrian trails across the Red River. At that point, DOTD said the repurposed bridge will be transferred to Louisiana State Parks within the Office of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism

What a racket. Blow the sumbitch up. They won't tear it down because of some species of bird nesting in the undercarriage.

Bossier has had 10% growth over the past decade.

And it's currently a small 2 lane bridge connecting Bossier to pretty much everything in Shreveport worth going to. This is long overdue

The toll bridge is only going to cost $100M. It’s supposed to connect 3132 and the 220 extension. Should fuel a lot of development on the southern end of the cities.

A little bit of that Ukraine money, and we'd be set!

That right there! A fraction of all that Ukraine money would pay for all our infrastructure woes. Sad state indeed

Weather-permitting. Done by 2032. Sounds nice, slightly jealous.
