he needs to take a tour through Mayfair and Town South Ave.I lived in off Town South in my first apartment because I ws young, dumb, and broke. Sandwhiched by some pretty high dollar real estate, these areas are full of crime and drugs. Ironically, they are also full of certain ages and demographics.

Why does NBR need "economic development"? Why can't the residents of NBR develop the area? They seriously want people from SBR to come to NBR to develop things? It just makes no sense to me. Are the residents incapable?

The deal with Gary is that his "business" model is to create racial tension. He has convinced unsuccessful and uneducated people that the reason they struggle is because white people are holding them down. It's true. You can tell just by reading the FB comments on his posts. They tune into his FB posts just to hear him "stick it to the white man." That's it.

In my opinion it is negligent for any news station to give him air time. It is like throwing kerosene on a fire. All he does is spread misinformation and hate.

Same thing with Sharpton and Jackson. I feel sorry for the blacks that listen to those two clowns. They don't realize how stupid that makes them look. They might as well pull their pants down to their knees and follow around like punks in a prison. That's basically what Jackson and Sharpton want. They want to make money off the segment who is too stupid to realize it.

Any blacks that listen to Chambers are doing the same thing. Except Chambers is a local yo yo who thinks he's big time. So that's even worse. You may as well listen to the crackhead out in the parking lot of your local gas station if you're gonna listen to Chambers. It would be just as productive.

Like WBRZ did as the whole thing was unfolding that Sunday morning.

It's kind of a chicken/egg situation. Businesses don't want to move into high crime areas, but they'll likely remain high crime areas until businesses come in and inject some capital into the place.

You really have to look at the LSU northgate model. You just have to start beating back the ghetto by razing it and starting fresh.

Most folks don't realize that NBR is in large measure fueled by tax money generated by South Baton Rougeans already. So to say that NBR "needs to be propped up," and then balk at it is to ignore the disparity in tax revenues.

In the City Parish of Baton Rouge, they're generated by and large in South Baton Rouge, and they're expended in North Baton Rouge. I'm not saying South Baton Rouge doesn't receive tax revenue or public services as a result. I'm saying that the majority of the tax revenue generated by South Baton Rouge is used to provide public services throughout the City Parish, including North Baton Rouge.

South Baton Rouge foots the bill for the entire City Parish in other words.

Let's look at it simply from a public school stance.

Gary rails on and on about how the upper middle class white people of SBR want to abandon the poor black kids and their public schools despite the fact that those people pay for their children's private education, thus freeing up 100% of their public school taxes that will go to black kids in NBR. He should be saying thank you to those private school parents for paying into that system and taking absolutely nothing out of it.

Sooner Gary realizes that white people as a whole don't really GAF about black people other than watching them play basketball and football games and trying to not get robbed the better off he'll be.

Nobody cares and if your a whiney bitch people care even less.

I know that sounds harsh but it's true. We all know it.

The kind of resurrection needed in NBR will take government intervention.. One way... Using Imminent domain to secure land for continuing loop efforts off 110 or by connecting 110 with 61.. By sub dividing the area you can shrink the potential private capital needed.

Sounds like the solution is for the residents to cease criminal activity.

The problem with NBR is they expect someone else to clean up NBR for them. If you ask any resident, educated or not, they will say the same thing, "they need to do something for us in NBR".

They know exactly where all the gang, drug, and other illegal activity takes place, but say nothing and do nothing. If they really wanted a better community, they would actually put in the work.

Exactly.

This reminds me of people complaining about the supposed lack of LGBT presence in film and television. Well, why don't you make your own movie instead of bitching at producers to do what YOU want?
