I mean I think it is, but I understand SCOTUS has said otherwise for other kinds of checkpoints.
I think there’s an argument this crosses that line though as there is a compelling state interest when conducting a DWI checkpoint. An “informational” checkpoint to give information widely disseminated through non 4A infringing means is a different animal
I think.

Seeing as that my registration is lapsed since the DMV got shut down by the hackers earlier this year and they never sent my renewal sticker for my plate. Now I can’t go in because the offices are closed. Chances I won’t be written a $400 ticket regardless?

I went through one earlier on Napoleon and Ferret with an expired break tag and cops just waved me through without checking anything.
