NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A man accused of deliberately setting two men on fire last week in New Orleans has been arrested on counts of attempted murder, police said Monday (Aug. 10).
Allen Harris, 32, is accused of causing the victims “serious burns” in arson attacks Aug. 3 and Aug. 8 in the Seventh Ward.
New Orleans police said Harris attacked the first victim in the 1900 block of North Roman Street, dousing the man with a flammable liquid and setting him afire.
Cornell Richardson lives on the block and described the attack as “devilish.”
The second alleged attack, in the 1600 block of Elysian Fields Avenue, followed the same method on Aug. 8, the NOPD said.
Surveillance video from the gas station on that block shows Harris in the store on Aug. 8.
The store’s manager says the same camera shows one of his victims entering the store 10 minutes later.
“It was, you know, horrific. I was scared as well. I’m having goosebumps still. So he just walked in fully burned. His skin was falling off as per the video that I saw. I don’t know how can anyone do something for someone like that,” she said.
Police said Fifth District officers and federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives located Harris later Friday in the 2400 block of Pauger Street and took him into custody.
The New Orleans Fire Department confirmed a fire investigator assisted in the investigation.
Harris’ bond was set Sunday at $750,000.

Well, at least he was at the right address to be forever happy

Elysian Fields, also known as Elysium, refers to a paradise in ancient Greek mythology where heroes and the virtuous souls go after death. It is depicted as a place of bliss and happiness, reserved for those favored by the gods and those who lived righteous lives.

Yup....anytime I walk up to Circle K entrance or other similar joint, the first thing I do is make sure nobody like this crazy looking mf-er is wandering around.

I nearly shite myself at a gas station in BR one night when an older black gentleman crawled out of a bush on the side of the store.

Gotta make sure they got the ice on the outside of the store before stopping.

This won't even count on the black on white murder tracker. I don't remember if I saw that here or on Woopig.

Involuntary commitment to insane asylums needs to come back and be used -often-.
I believe the creepy Circle K crowd would be thinned out, as would the living under the overpass crowd.
