Fleur-Di-Lis or however you spell it is under major repair right now. Lot's of drainage and sewage pipe work included.
Total rebuild. The first phase of that boh bros had was a disaster for them.
They didn’t even bid the phase going on now.
I took off the plans but even my company decided not to bid it.

FEMA shouldn't be giving any money to Louisiana.
No federal agency should give any money for roads until all the gas tax Louisiana generates is actually fricking used for roads.

No shite. Two days in a row I10 is virtually shutdown and the thought process is to put more emphasis on funneling everyone that way.

NOLA has to be the largest welfare city in the country.
Posted on 7/13/18 at 10:27 pm to Cosmo
Half of that will go missing. $250MM will be used to pave three or four roads. $250MM will be used to fix botched paving jobs and digging up paved-over storm drains. The last $500MM will be used for studies and things not at all related to streets

assuming alot of this has already been spent right? Or am I wrong? It was just sitting in a a S and wb account?
It’s not new money, the city was already given the money. This was just the final verdict on if the city could keep the money due to the IG saying not all the damage was storm related.

Damn, giving the NOLA government $2 billion, is like making Chris Brown the director of a Battered Women’s Shelter. Not a good idea...

I'm not usually critical when I see them actually trying to improve things, but the work on St. Charles Ave. seems to be the most inefficient work I've ever seen. They are constantly blocking off lanes and streets and doing so months after I thought they were complete. But then they seem to redo it or something. From morning to morning, you have no clue which street they will block off. And St. Charles & Louisiana seems like it has been a disaster for about 5 years now. I would love to see the estimated cost/time frame for completion for that work vs the actual hours billed and actual completion date.

FEMA first awarded the city and Sewerage & Water Board $785 million, and later $1.25 billion. That sum is the majority of the money the city and S&WB have on hand for a massive infrastructure-repair project with an ultimate price tag of $9 billion. Officials say the combined $1.5 billion from FEMA will greatly reduce the burden on the city and the SWB annual budget. Speaking on behalf of the SWB and all New Orleans citizens, Marcie Edwards stated the $1.2 billion "would do wonders for our underprivileged and homeless citizens". Asked for comment later, Mayor Landrieu was ecstatic about the prospects of $900 million and how much it would help the citys underemployed, "these guys deserve every penny of that money that we already received a decade ago, god bless the FEMA people".

I believe you're thinking of Baton Rouge. But yea, I have zero faith in this money going where it needs to.

Im sure the mayor will use this money judiciously and there will be transparency.
More than any other funds.
Fed money means Fed auditors. Oddly enough, they don't like unaccounted for monies.

Sounds like they just don't have to pay the money back. This isn't net new cash
