The average American has $400 in case of emergency

They’re not concerned with geopolitical effects of Ukraine falling

A History lesson from 1938 for Trump and all Putin defenders from the History channel. This is the first step in placating a dictator. The next step happened in 1939.

Are you saying Hitler didn't make any moves in the four years before 1939? Russia didn't do shite from 2017 to 2020. There's no comparison in the few years before the war started.

A better example would be giving Putin Crimea in 2014 and thinking he was going to stop there.

That seems pretty far fetched

Dude, the country was divided over some crackhead dying on video with the cops.

Post-2016.

Again, Russia's influence on the 2016 election was primarily supporting leftist causes. I won't say they were a primary driver in what happened in 2020, but it was a part. Russia just wants a divided US.

Most people in this country don't care or know anything about this Ukraine situation. I'd say 90% couldn't pick Ukraine out on a map and 50% couldn't pick Russia.

And yet, we see a bunch of experts on Ukraine today who, shockingly, argue points that magically are in line with their political polarity.

The dirty part of the story people disregard is Putin, as the rest of the world, thought Hillary was going to win and the whole purpose of what they did, email hacks, leaks, was to damage Hillary so she would be a weak President. It had nothing to do with wanting Trump President. If they wanted Trump President they would have made these moves four years ago.

youre correct, except about the caring part. once their respective news channel tells them how to feel, thats how they will care. until they dangle the next shiny key in their face.

Putin is an autocrat who rules his country with an iron fist. He is corrupt. He controls information through state media and suppresses free speech. He has invaded a neighboring country that voted for independence over 30 years ago (with over 90% of the vote) and has a democratically elected government.

This is bad. It’s bad for democracy. It’s bad for economies worldwide. It’s bad for freedom. It’s bad for civilization. There is no good way to spin this, no matter what the Putin fanboys will tell you.

And it will only embolden the Chinese and others. At some point we have to use the non-violent nuclear option and remove Russia from SWIFT. That'll crater their economy with a quickness.

Another poster said Boris Johnson just proposed this to parliament. Supposedly the opposition leader gave his full support.

What is funny is watching the progs in this thread act like this is horrible, while at the same time cheering it all here....

Then make snide remarks about "Fox" news while also claiming they aren't leftists.

Don't forget Clinton and Chechnya.

NATO isn't a real threat to them either. Acting like NATO was ever going to invade Russia is asinine.

Why are you hung up on invasion? There are hundreds of ways to harm a country without invading. In the past ten years, the leaders of NATO have run regime change operations in two of Russia's neighboring countries which have severely harmed them economically and militarily.

I guarantee you that if you asked Putin or Russian military leaders as to what they perceive as the greatest threat to Russian standing in the world, the answer is going to be NATO.
