re: No, we should not send our military to Ukraine. But can we speak the truth?

e's establishing a buffer between himself and NATO after heavy eastward expansion over the course of 2 decades. This isn't a difficult topic, but people like DS call you a fanboy for simply pointing out motives and saying it's a rational line of thinking.
This is the worst take by the worst poster in this thread. Nothing has changed on the NATO/Ukrainian front to cause this action. Don't parrot absolutely nonsensical Russian PR. This is a clear act of aggression to reclaim a former part of the USSR vital to the distribution of food and oil for the region. Nothing to do with a "buffer zone". We aren't talking about creating a DMZ zone between the two countries but an attack on a whole fricking country.

The mere fact that they are allowed to operate is astonishing in many parts of the world and that's something you won't acknowledge because you feel that you would lose a point for the elephant team
I know it wasn’t your intention, but this post illustrates why many on the right have no interest in Ukraine or Putin. We know Putin really isn’t the threat to American sovereignty and individual liberty you progs pretend he is.
People like you are.

Stolen elections are bad for democracy.
US politicians funneling money through Ukraine is bad for democracy.

Putin is an autocrat who rules his country with an iron fist. He is corrupt. He controls information through state media and suppresses free speech. He has invaded a neighboring country that voted for independence over 30 years ago (with over 90% of the vote) and has a democratically elected government.
Agree.

There is no good way to spin this, no matter what the Putin fanboys will tell you.
I'm no Putin fan, but there is absolutely a potential bright side here. I hate America World Police. I hate that we feel we have the obligation or even right to have our bases and troops scattered across the globe when no other country is permitted to do this. NATO is a fiction. The US is NATO. It's our money, our equipment, our troops with all the rest tagging along for the ride. Europe has not adequately invested in their own militaries. They rely on you and I, the American taxpayers, to protect them by projecting force from across the ocean.
Russia's irredentist gambles may just be the catalyst that wakes Europe up from the fading dream of the Pax Americana, causing Europeans to start worrying about the real world instead of trans rights and how many third world transplants they can squeeze into their borders. Europe has been too liberal for too long, and Russia may just be the spark that shocks them back to reality.

Only homeland security saying you are a whittle supremacist and domestic terrorist going against the federal government or spreading misinformation.
Which being anti covid vaccine is seen as.
And the best part is budennis given hundreds of million to law enforcement agencies to combat domestic extremism.
What happened to defunding the police? Only a fricking liberal could vote for the guy that signed a huge crime bill and the top cop of California.

One of the most bizarre aspects of this whole thing is how some people in this country have turned into Putin fanboys and started parroting Russian talking points.
The unfortunate truth is that there are people here in America that are not really in favor of freedom - as in an open democracy. They are just in favor of their political "side" and maybe even more so against the other political "side". They could care less about freedom v. autocracy.

He is an egotistical maniac who’s selfishness is only usurped by his ego.
The sooner someone puts a bullet in his brain, the better. frick Putin. frick Russia.

OP, you are proceeding from several flawed assumptions and your conclusions are dead wrong.
Russia is fighting because its neighbor, and arguably a traditional part of its territory, is falling under the spell of a globalist cabal. This is the cabal of Rome, Paris, Westminster, Windsor, William Tecumseh Sherman, Disney, and George Soros. It is the vanguard of transhumanism and of gender theory.
"Bad for the economy"- that is just such a myth. The USSR didn't fail because of its flawed economic system. It actually did damned well in light of the 9,000,000 or so lives sacrificed in WWII.
It was easy to cling to the belief that we were on the right side of the great east-vs.-west divide in 1970 or 1980. That fantasy is no longer tenable. We've seen Lena Dunham and she is all of us.
