He wouldn't have had to.

Putin would never be the aggressive if Trump was in office.

Its like a burglar looking in a house and seeing a chihuahua and going in and robbing anyway.

Biden is a chihuahua.
Trump is a juiced angry pitbull with a chain around his neck.

One is feared and the other is a laughingstock.

I agree with you.

So, why does DC and our media work so hard to divide us?

A History lesson from 1938 for Trump and all Putin defenders from the History channel. This is the first step in placating a dictator. The next step happened in 1939.

History channel Peace in our time

No I'm suggesting he was going to invade no matter what, but he was fine with using asymmetrical timing to create further divide in the US

Peace is boring. People can self sustain during peace and prosperity.

Chaos is exciting. Chaos requires people to need you

*ETA: and if Chaos doesn't exist, you create the perception of chaos

The media is in it for ratings. If these big 3 24/7 news channels keep showing you what you want to see and hear, you’ll keep tuning in. People want to be assured they’re correct. DC keeps everyone angry to retain power.

Not a good analogy. Better to compare to Germany invading Poland in 1939.

I'm sure the Biden's, Clinton's, Bush's and Romney's are so glad they've got someone willing to send American kids to Eastern Europe to protect their slush funds.

Putin is an autocrat who rules his country with an iron fist. He is corrupt. He controls information through state media and suppresses free speech. He has invaded a neighboring country that voted for independence over 30 years ago (with over 90% of the vote) and has a democratically elected government.

This is bad. It’s bad for democracy. It’s bad for economies worldwide. It’s bad for freedom. It’s bad for civilization. There is no good way to spin this, no matter what the Putin fanboys will tell you.

Basically the same with the US. Here is my take. Screw Ukraine. Dont care if they get invaded. We have our own problems. Dont give me that trickle down effect either. Ukraine is a corrupt country to begin with. If Putin wants their resources then he should get them. We should do the same. All flags have a little blood on them from time to time.

The Allies also thought "hey just let Austria fall to Germany that'll be the end of that"

Narrator: It wasn't.

Neville Chamberlain is the tried and true go to.

Back in 2006, I wrote about how -- largely due to neocons -- the only historical event American elites seem to know when it comes time to discuss war and peace is Neville Chamberlain. Even Reagan got accused of "appeasement" for negotiating with the USSR:

The warmongering progs who called Bush a war criminal (rightly so) back in 2002 are all ordering "These Colors Don't Run" shirts as I type. Absolutely despicable.

So, a guy that was in politics for a total of 4 years is responsible for it, yet your heroes are the paragons of truth?

The Bidens and Clintons have used these two countries as slush funds for years. Where are you and your ilk on that one?

Oh, that's right. Those things are ok. Pulling troops out of war zones is white supremacy.

There are 3 possible reasons.

1. This is what you're going for, and that's based in Trump's strength and perceived response of the right-pole.

2. Trump was a puppet of Russia/Putin so there was no need, which is what left-pole will say.

3. Putin knows exactly how these polar narratives would unfold by an asymmetrical response, and the division cause is his real goal.

I say it's #3

I think Putin just wants what he wants and was only looking for the next opportunity to take it without real consequences, but he likely values #3 greatly as well.

It'd be much easier to argue that Putin was the puppet of Trump than the opposite.

Naw. He's going to create buffer states out of thin air to create more distance b/c "Ukraine" and "Russia"

Dude, the country was divided over some crackhead dying on video with the cops.

Most people in this country don't care or know anything about this Ukraine situation. I'd say 90% couldn't pick Ukraine out on a map and 50% couldn't pick Russia.
