They're for kids. If it helps the kids have more fun and let parents keep them in one place easier then I'm all for it. I've paraded uptown for years now and never had a problem with the hordes of ladders and still caught tons of stuff.

Ya know wht Id love to see an article on? How the police force will be at 100% capacity with the goal of taking out every thief and criminal that preys upon those that just want to have a good time. I want to see them say that the police force understands there are alot of out of towners who dont know the area and they will be treated with respect. That we understand people want to have a good time and not continue to take away traditions that have made this city what it is during Mardi Gras.
Instead we have hundreds of people whos goal is to take away ice chests, ladders, and tents. Hell they havent announced it yet but Im willing to bet there will be undercover agents looking to confiscate those certain large beads that are pretty much only earned by showing a Grade A rack.
This a-hole is on a war path and will not stop until New Orleans is no longer New Orleans.

I take issue with them unless they're at the very back. Don't stick a ladder in the front of a crowd. What happened to the days of throwing your kid on your shoulders?

that is the ONLY one that makes sense, someone puts up a 8x8 tent and instantly has blocked that whole area off just for their own private party. add two or 3 of those together and a whole neutral ground can be "privatized" by 2 or 3 families excluding the public from that whole area as well as blocking the view

Can I still rent a port a potty and charge drunk people to use it?
Posted on 1/30/18 at 1:33 pm to tgrbaitn08
I will say this. frick the ladders being so close to the road. It makes it impossible to cross the street. Next thing you know you accidentally stepped on someone’s shite. The dad from Metairie whose been drinking bourbon all day gets in your face and cusses you out in front of his crying kids. frick ladders.

You sound salty. I have a few bags of them in my guest closet. You want some? Just show me your tits.

This is clearly true and I can't for the life of me figure out why. He's from here so why is he taking all of this away? It's one thing if there's constituents clamoring for change but ice chests, ladders, and tents at Mardi Gras? This doesn't actually help anything and only serves to make him unpopular. Why is he doing all of this?

I was confused by this as well, do they mean tent
or canopy
Because I've only ever seen canopies along the routes

We got smarter and more resourceful. Deal with it, douche.

I see nothing wrong with anything in that link. Those are existing rules.
They completely block views of the parade and sections of the neutral ground. It really is an a-hole thing to bring a tent out there

I've always paraded in an area with tons of tents and its never been an issue.

Apparently not in this thread.

The no tents will go over real well if the rain forecast holds up.
Posted on 1/30/18 at 1:38 pm to tgrbaitn08
I'm not sure why everyone is pissy about this. Mitch puts out some type of statement every year saying this same shite. NOPD never enforces it unless it's an unavoidable issue like you're blocking the road or crosswalk. Y'all need to chill out.
