I think humans generally have a desire to determine what happened and how it happened during a terrible tragedy/accident.
And to say to themselves "that would never happen to me/my kid because I would never make that mistake, I've taught them better," etc. It's a means of coping with the awful uncertainties of life.

Yo just saw the video on reddit. Those kids are dicks man.
I didn't think so. Sounded exactly like a bunch of drunk teens who are trying to process a shocking scene.
The last kid who said "that kid is fricking gone, bro" you could hear the sobering concern in his voice.

Yeah, that boat wasn’t moving nor was the ring.

There was an nfl player that went off boating off the west coast of Fl years ago. He had his boat flipped and they were out there I believe 24 -36 hours. Cannot remember his name. I believe they were able to sit on top of the hull
Not Without Hope describes a 2009 boating accident that took the lives of NFL players Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith and Schuyler's best friend Will Bleakley. Co-author Schuyler survived the incident.
On Saturday, February 28, 2009, at about 6:30 AM, the four men embarked in a 21-foot single-engine boat owned by Cooper from the Seminole Boat Ramp near Clearwater Pass. They had gone fishing in the Gulf of Mexico about 50 miles (80 km) off of Clearwater, Florida. At around 5:30 PM, they went to pull up the anchor and head back to port, but the anchor was stuck. When Cooper tried to thrust the boat forward in an attempt to dislodge the anchor, the vessel became submerged and capsized, tossing the men overboard. According to Schuyler, over the next several hours, his three companions each eventually succumbed to hypothermia. Schuyler was the sole survivor. On March 2, 2009, he was found by the United States Coast Guard. Schuyler was near death, clinging to the engine mount of the capsized vessel.

My daughter is friends with Cam and has so far avoided seeing the video, thankfully. It's pretty messed up that people are posting it - sharing a kids last moments on the internet for clout. People are gross.
Sharing a video doesn’t change a thing in this situation but thank you for playing.

After further review he absolutely was attacked from the front and from below almost simultaneously.

That idiot boy that said "Bye, Bye" in the video must feel absolutely horrible now.

You would hope, but kids can be incredibly callous.

Doubt it. And not sure why he would. Bet others wished they got to say goodbye one last time.

The kids will move on with their life. The kid or kids that dared him will also. The parents and his loved ones will have to live with this regret the rest of their life.

I wasn’t concentrating on him before. I thought people were talking about the obvious fish around the boat before he disappears.
If you concentrate on him frame by frame you can see fish like motions approach him from the front and grab hold of his arm or hand.
Almost immediately after you can see much more clearly a shark grabbing his legs. This one I even have narrowed to 2 separate frames where you can actually see the shark’s mouth opening. In a separate frame you can even make out the tail quite clearly.
Changing some of the lighting effects I can also make out the struggle under water that the original video wouldn’t make out easily.

We used to go jump off of the railroad tracks on Frenchtown road into pretty shallow water. I don't think we ever planned too much on what to do if a train came by either. I think a lot of us are just alive as adults due to luck.
A teen boy died a couple years ago jumping from that spot.
