When the researchers combined TOFA with existing obesity drugs such as semaglutide or tirzepatide, the combination treatments produced greater reductions in body weight and improvements in blood sugar, insulin and triglyceride levels than either drug alone.
Mice treated with TOFA maintained body weights close to control levels after treatment ended, while mice previously given semaglutide began rapidly regaining weight.

Lol, outcomes in mice are nearly always irrelevant.

Or….Eli Lilly could just come to market with Retatutride and a reasonable price and not $1200/10mg.

How long till the weight loss industry kills this research?
And all the researchers too

I'm waiting to see what the "possible side effects" are.
Electrically-charged urination? Hair may smell like wet dog? Fecal excretion through the toes? Blue skin?

All worth it just to be able to live your best life
At least that is what the advertisements will show us.

It’s pretty obvious they’re going to be able to refine these drugs into something really positive for a lot of people in the very near future with ever decreasing side effects. It won’t be perfect and living a great lifestyle is obviously preferable. In the real world however I’m hopeful that these will eventually help a lot of chronic diseases of western cultures.

Is there any chance giving weak people cheat code drugs like this will affect things like our food industry?
I know it’s already a shite show, but would this not cause it to get even worse?

What's funny is picturing them putting mice on little workout benches and having them max out on bench presses to see if their muscles were preserved or not.

Don't know why people are complaining. A wonder drug that can control weight and cure diabetes. They should be pumping it into our water supply for free.
This fat pill could save our health care system.

Exactly. Working, commuting, house chores, kids.. not everyone can always make the time for the right choices consistently.
I’m doing mine the hard way, but I am not employed so I have time to meal plan, shop, cook, and work out.

Eli Lilly files 6 lawsuits against businesses selling 'black market' obesity drug
They want to shut down all the grey market venders so they can charge $1,200.00 a month for something that should be $50.00.
The pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly is studying a new obesity drug called retatrutide. The drug has not yet been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, but that hasn't stopped people from selling unapproved versions.
And now, Eli Lilly is suing.
The company says it has filed six lawsuits against businesses selling what it calls "black market" retatrutide.
They include a medical spa chain in California and a compounding pharmacy in Texas. The drug company is also suing companies that sell so-called "research-only" peptides online.

As for people who actually DO work out and track their diet and nutrition, I'd like to know if these boutique drugs can help get rid of the stubborn areas of fat that seems to take forever. I work out, run and incline walk a lot, plus carefully monitor my calories, carbs and protein intake. I would love it if I could continue what I'm doing exercise-wise and just eat what I want. I wonder how these drugs handle cholesterol because I would love to pig out on some fatty smoked Texas brisket and smoked sausage, New Orleans BBQ shrimp, eat French bread and rice, gravy smothered chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes, and man, could I ever just dive in on some Popeyes fried chicken and a Whataburger sausage, egg & cheese jalapeño bisquit and hash brown sticks. And drink real Coca Cola made with cane sugar!

Shiii. Bring back ephedra and you would have 300 lb people running marathons. 10-20 bucks a bottle for the old Stacker 2.
I used to take that stuff when I worked for UPS in the evening sort while in college. I would go home after a shift and run a mile to wear down the effects so I could sleep for the next day.

Taint infection is my favorite side effect I’ve heard so far.
Jardiance side effects:
This medicine may cause a rare but serious bacterial infection, called necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum or Fournier's gangrene, which can cause damage to the tissue under the skin in the area between and around the anus and genitals (perineum).
