I bought the final year of the V8 Tundra in 2022. They were nice enough to throw in 0% interest for 72 months. It was crazy to me for Toyota to do that incentivized rate. I was buying it with the knowledge it was last of that engine and generation. I love my V8 Tundra.

That’s my thing with all this. I don’t want to have to get a turbocharged engine, be it V6 or 4 cyl, to give me the same performance NA V8 trucks have given me for years. It’s more upkeep and something else that can and will go wrong. Having a turbo go out can also take out your whole engine.

Switching to a 3.0L inline turbo V6. The specs are impressive but who knows if it will be reliable. I think the 5.7 is gone in the 2025s for the 1500s at least.

A 21 Land Cruiser with 60k miles is going for more than those new V4 land cruisers.

Two different vehicles. The new TLC is the Land Cruiser Prado everywhere else in the world, which is to say it's a less luxurious GX. The only full-sized SUVs now are the Sequoia and LX, which both have V6s.

The V6 turbos make more than enough power and torque for the truck. More than a bare bones V8.

Clearly you didn't listen to said mechanic, there is no such thing as a V4 in vehicles (there are very few ever produced).

You are correct.
The problem lies in the fact that all these companies have poured a huge amount of $$$$$$$ into R&D and re-tooling factories to produce these shitboxes because 12 of the last 16 years the FedGov has shoved this shite down their corporate throats, and stolen our taxpayer dollars to give them because they are losing their asses trying to build and sell crap that nobody wants to buy.

Unless Ram is ditching their 5.7 V8, that’s probably what I’ll go with when I have to replace it next year.

You may want to do 30 seconds of research. Ram has ditched the Hemi.

Since when did Toyota start doing this? Was looking at new Tundras and the only have the option for a V6 engine. Tacomas only have the option for 4 cyclinder engines?? Pretty disappointing. What vehicles of theirs do they install V8's in at the moment?

Let’s be real, you only need the 4 cylinder Tacoma.
