So why not a pertussis shot? I’m not against legit vaccines but the commingling seems unnecessary. A way to extort more money from insurance.

Are people who are against the Covid vaccine considered anti vax? The term is thrown around a lot without much clarity

Then why does the baby need it several times then again as an adolescent.

I understand the part of getting one if you’ve never had one.

Just seems overkill. Money making scheme.

Pertussis is rampant. We do have antibiotics to treat it, but it's out there so the young and old need it.

There’s a reason you don’t hear about Diptheria and pertussis/Whooping Cough too often. I recall C-3PO and R2-D2 did a commercial, when I was a kid, that’s how long ago this was worried about. Now it creeps back. Vaccines then lack of being vaccinated.

Tetanus?? Lockjaw and tetany sounds like an awful way to go compared to the pride of keeping your kids pure bloods?

We're nearly to the point where both sides are just completely retarded and the truth is no where to be found.

I’m curious; how did covid save your life?

December 2019 the covid news started really picking up.

I figured if I was ever going to get clean this was the time. Checked into rehab 2020. Clean going on 5 years. When I got out the first time I didn’t know anyone was masking. We didn’t have tvs or radio. Everything was controlled by rehab team. Phone calls every 2 weeks on Sunday afternoon if you had good behavior lol. Your focus was never on masking it was on getting out so there was no reason I guess for my wife to go into the whole masking thing.

If they are actually doing research, I find the ones that pick and choose instead of wholesale saying "all of these are bad" are smarter/more admirable.

People should be vaccinating against Diptheria, Tetanus and Pertussis.

Covid should have changed a ton of people’s lives. It was clear from the very beginning that it specifically targeted the elderly and those that are generally unhealthy. A large number of the generally unhealthy are self-inflicted due to their lifestyle choices (specifically obesity).

If you were self-inflicted unhealthy then you should have changed your lifestyle to get more healthy thereby reducing the chances of Covid being a concern.

I'm generally for vaccines. I'm against mRNA vaccines in almost all cases.

Doctors appear to not take into account lifestyle. There is no reason an infant baby should be taking a hep-b vaccine that is being raised by a middle class family in some Americana bedroom community. Now if they are being raised by a needle infested community under the interstate overpass in LA, sure. Give them the hep-b vaccine.

You can create a very strong argument that vaccines are the greatest accomplishment in human history. I feel so sorry for the kids of the idiots in this thread (and elsewhere) who think they know more than the geniuses at Stanford and Johns Hopkins (who dedicate their lives to understanding all of this) because they spent 20 minutes reading the blog of a community college dropout in the panhandle of Florida.

An "anti-vaxxer" is by definition against vaccines in general. If someone does research and chooses to not get every vaccine known to man, they are smart and reasonable.

If you go to the doctor and have every vaccine without questioning if each one is necessary, you are a fool.

Doctors simply are not experts on every vaccine. They know, generally, vaccines are safe and beneficial, but also many vaccines have risks which may outweigh the benefits.

I have a science background, with some experience in immunovirology. Even without that experience, I'd advise people to consider the pros and cons of anything injected into their body, regardless of what your most recent doctor suggests.

If you absolutely trust your doctor as an expert, defer to his expertise. If your doctor is simply the most recent doctor you use, he may not have your best interest in mind. He'll treat you according to current guidelines, but he wants you out the door ASAP so he can move on to the next patient.

I agree. I answered before I read the entire article and saw it was about her child. I was talking about adults needing it but didn't specify.
