Thank you Landry and Trump

shite on Landry all you want but one thing he has done is let LSP break skulls in NOLA

100,000% this.

Was literally gonna say the same thing. Say what you want about Landry. I don't think he's been a very good governor either, but this is definitely the one thing he's nailed.

The don't sling in the Quarter, that's where LSP is.

The black population in NO isn't what it was and that means upward mobility isn't there. So they move to more populous areas.

I don't believe this for a half a second.

The way these liberal cities have creatively decided to categorize crimes is the reason behind this.

Like the Tapper on CNN last night told everyone that the DC Jan 6th Pipe Bomber was WHITE, while they flash a picture of the actual BLACK man that was arrest for being the BOMBER.

All lies.

They are cooking the books.......as usual.

Teddy should be in prison, and I hope to see that happen asap.

2019 was almost as low, 2022 was high as giraffe pussy.

Can you say what reclassifications happened between the lows of 2019 and 2025 and the high of 2022?

LSP Troop NOLA is the best thing Landry has done and likely will do during his entire time in office. It has been a massive success.

The city had 16 million visitors last year and this year will probably be higher.

Get your head out of your arse. They can’t change or reclassify a murder. And they can’t hide it.

Two very big reasons the city is seeing fewer murders….. LSP came in and took the worst criminals off the streets. And the DA finally decided to start doing his job. It really is the bottom 5% scum doing all the shootings.

This trend started in 2023, prior to Landry

Has nothing to do with LSP.

All the 9mm boys had to move to Houston, Jackson or Memphis to make a living. Can't make any money slingin in NO.

The people that commit crimes leave, crime rate goes down.

Crime is going down almost everywhere. It probably is being driven by our declining, and aging, population. Plus, even the hoodlums are playing video games instead of killing people.

Likely the LSP stuff has had minimal impact, similar to Giuliani getting credit for NYC's crime decline in the 90s (that mythos is still skrong today for some reason).

Crime is going down nationally. There was a post-Covid spike in 2021-mid 2023 and then crime started falling most everywhere in mid-2023 and has continued to plummet since.

For example, Baltimore doesn't have a state police variable

quote:

As of this morning, Baltimore has seen 91 homicides and 218 nonfatal shootings in 2025. These numbers represent a 29.5% drop in homicides and a 21% decrease in nonfatal shootings compared to this time last year and are on top of two years of sustained reductions in 2023 and 2024.

quote:

91 homicides year-to-date represents the fewest Baltimore has seen through the first eight months of the year in over 50 years. Baltimore saw seven homicides last month, the lowest total for the month of August, historically one of the deadliest months of the year, on record.

Or New York

quote:

Police Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch today announced that in the first 11 months of 2025, New York City saw the fewest shooting incidents and shooting victims in recorded history. During the 11-month stretch, the city recorded 652 shooting incidents and 812 shooting victims, compared to the previous all-time lows of 696 and 828 respectively, set in 2018.

For the month of November, murders were also at the lowest level in recorded history with 16 murders, tying the previous record set in 2018. There were zero murders in all of Queens and Staten Island, and overall murder was down 46.6% in November 2025 compared to November 2024.

Was down there the last couple of days. City looked comparatively clean and I felt safe. Christmas decorations at the hotels were incredible.

LSP has definitely helped and DA became less woke after he was carjacked a few years ago. They started prosecuting juveniles as adults. They have cameras everywhere so the solve rates are much higher. Now that the consent decree is lifted expect crime to go down more

Again, this was already trending the same as most of the country. Crime, especially violent crimes, is plummeting almost everywhere.

The places where it's not, like Baton Rouge, are the extreme exception.

I think New Orleans at it’s best is the shite. Imagine if it was truly safe how awesome it could be? I’d probably move there.
