I seriously would like to know why all these numbers have dropped so drastically in one year.
Maybe other areas could benefit from use the same tactics

The OP has been scraping the bottom of the IQ barrel for years. He can always go lower though.

New Orleans crime reporting is down because police take so long to show up

Law enforcement that’s not under a microscope every second can make a difference. It might not be perfect, but these stats compared to some don’t lie. Someone in a different thread mentioned that some groups only respect those that bring the hammer down, and that person wasn’t wrong. It’s great for the city and the state that crime is going down, the problem is that this could have happened long ago but city and state politicians got in the way. We get what we vote for and NO and BR are the prime examples.

No one left to kill. Also, isn’t New Orleans’ population plummeting?

That may be but for the first time in 10-12 years, I felt safe in New Orleans when my wife and I spent the weekend there for our anniversary in July. Whether Landry’s reasons for getting Troop NOLA started were selfish or not, I don’t care. I felt safer there while walking around the Quarter and Bourbon.

Damn DC and Baltimore are way more violent than New Orleans.

can't reason why they'd make up the crime increase in the first place
Nola was, is and will continue to be a dangerous city run by incredibly incompetent people. Short term trends will not change this fact.

Maybe several have killed each other off. Maybe the LSP are making it happen since they aren’t bound by the consent decree. All the decree did was give criminals the go ahead to do as they wished. An NOPD once told me their hands were tied and they’d basically been neutered. It would be great if this stuck after the Super Bowl.

Similar in most areas Crime spiked due to Covid but has been dropping since some time in 2022 or early 2023. Now NPCs are going to either way (1) the data isn't real because some jurisdictions don't report data to the FBI or (2) they're making it up 1 ignores that you can go to the cities themselves for the data 2 can't reason why they'd make up the crime increase in the first place
Flexing and spiking the football on supposedly lower crime rates in New Orleans seems like a really good long term bet.

We stop killing when the NFL starts and until the saints first lose. A New Orleans tradition as cherished as front day.
