I’m all for being cautious, but this new rule is stupid, defies logic, and will be the nail in the coffin for bars outside of the French quarter (which this rule was specifically aimed at).

It’s basically to shutdown Bourbon Street. I don’t have a problem with it as long as it gets the kids back in school sooner.

It’s pretty easy even in the bar context to keep things “safe” or as best you can
Require being seated to drink, masks on all staff, close before 12 or so. That takes care of people dancing on each other or being piled up like the bars in Houston that cater to 21 year old suburban kids

The Nola.com article says it’s just for take out alcohol, doesn’t say anything about closing down bars.
