Ate at Morrisons on multiple occasions with family. That old location is where Rooms to Go currently is ?

another pic from same era … GEX was once the anchor of this shopping center in the 70's and later came Security Sporting Goods, KMart, Showbiz Pizza,Post Office, the Mineral shop, K&B

pretty sure this is where I saw JAWS for the first time … location is now the Lexus dealership

Swamp Burgers from the Swamp Room on Vets were a late night mainstay.

GEX

Hysterical. I worked there in High School in the small concession area making and selling caramel covered pop corn. Nearly cut my finger off cutting open a big bag of brown sugar.

K & B. How many guys my age saw their first furtive Playboy there with the rest of the magazines and later drank cherry Cokes with their girlfriends and played the mini-Juke boxes at each booth in the diner?

Wow! What memories!

This picture is a prime example of how Metairie became trash. Pretty much the white trash capital of the state. Except for Old Metry.

I could spend days at the Security on Carrollton as a kid.

In the days before the internet, finding the type of shoe or sports gear you wanted was difficult. Most sporting goods stores sold one or two types of gear at best. And, for the most part, you just had to settle.

But, the Security on Carrollton seemed to have everything. Largest selection in the city for sure.

Wise Cafeteria most every Sunday in the 70s.

Dropped much coinage at the Fun Arcade next to Dorignac's. (The former Burger Chef for us real old folks.)

My dad knew Mr. Lloyd, who owned the trampoline yard on Vets right by Bonnabel. He opened his own place on the Westbank, next to Shakey's.

Had many late nights at Swamp Room and Bottom Line. GREAT burgers.

But if you wanted a people watching show to go with your late night or early morning breakfast grab...this was the place...

Morrisons was too upscale for us, but we did spent a lot of time raising the flag at Panchos.

We ate at the one downtown. Forget if it’s AG or Morrison’s.

Does anyone remember when Binder’s was at St Claude and Franklin??

I was surprised to find Tiffin Inn closed when the wife had a recent Drs. appointment and she had to fast prior to having bloodwork done. We left the office and headed straight to Tiffin Inn only to find it no longer there.

The guys who ran Pancho's still run a Mexican buffet on north Williams Blvd in Kenner. Same food, same style of service.

Pretty sure that is the same Lloyd that had the Christmas tree lot on Vets across from Martin Behrman too.

Whole gang of us 13 year olds rode our bikes over there and Lloyd let us carry people's trees to their cars for tips.

One night, Lloyd announced "Boys, we've got a real problem here." We all got nervous because we thought we had screwed something up. Lloyd continued "I know I'm gonna fart but I'm liable to shite too, what do y'all think?" After a brief silence, he proclaimed "frick it, I'll be right back, George watch the till and none of you little bastards steal anything, you hear?" and he walked across Vets to K&B to take a dump.

Yeah, I guess we surpassed Pearl River, Bogalusa, Bush, Sun and all the other areas that seem to hold on to a shite ton of trash...

I'm sure I could go on about what ever shite hole you live in...

I remember someone telling me the owners of the building didn't renew their lease..

But that place was a throw back in time. They never changed their interior since they opened in the early seventies.
